摘要: Low-voltage CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) circuits, suitable for analog decoders, for example, are provided. The circuits include multiplier modules that receive first input signals and respective ones of a plurality of second input signals. Each multiplier module generates as output signals products of the first input signals and its respective second input signals. Dummy multiplier modules that respectively correspond to the multiplier modules receive the second input signals, and each dummy multiplier module forms products of the second input signal of its corresponding multiplier module and the other second input signals. The dummy multiplier modules reduce the overall voltage requirements of the circuit, thereby providing for low-voltage operation. In some embodiments, a connectivity module receives output signals from the multiplier modules and generates as output signals sums of predetermined ones of the output signals, and a renormalization module receives and normalizes the output signals from the connectivity module to generate output signals that sum to a predetermined unit value.

摘要: A method for positioning actuators inside printing machines is described. In particular, the positioning operations of metering elements, which serve to feed ink, moisture or varnish and interact with a rotating cylinder, are improved. To this end, the metering elements are automatically moved from time to time up to the rotating cylinder and the position resulting in the process is stored as a so-called zero position. The method according to the invention is intended in particular to ensure that the metering element is not set with too high a force relative to the cylinder during future positioning operations. This is done by motion commands being fed to the drive allocated to the metering element so that this drive moves the metering element in two areas, in which the metering element is contiguous to the cylinder and furthermore is in contact with the cylinder. While the position values of the metering element are detected, the corresponding functional relations of the position signals of the metering element are detected as a function of the motion commands of the drive. The zero position value, at which both functions are identical, is stored as the motion command for further positioning operations.

摘要: The invention relates to a method and device for detecting ink or lacquer films on metallic surfaces inside printing machines. In particular, to irradiate the surface with light and sensing of the intensity of the reflected light to detect whether an ink film or lacquer film on a roller has been completely removed by applying a metering element or doctor-blade element. This is achieved according to the invention by the irradiation of the metallic surface or of the film located thereon, and the reception of the light reflected from the surface or the film located thereon is performed at the Brewster angle with respect to the surface normal, the Brewster angle being defined by the refractive index of the material of the film to be determined and that liner polarization of the light is performed at least partially in the plane of incidence, at least in one of the two beam paths.

摘要: A control system for a printing press in which a central computer is interfaced to a plurality of printing units through peripheral units located near the press units. The central unit utilizes digital signals to address particular peripheral units and to select control functions at the selected peripheral unit. The controlled functions in the press units provide analog feedback signals which are to be sensed by the central computer. A multi-function bus comprising both analog and digital sections couples the central computer to the peripheral units. The integrity of the analog feedback signals on the bus is maintained by assuring that the digital signals on the bus are maintained in a quasi-steady condition during intervals when the central computer is evaluating analog feedback signals on the analog section of the bus.
