摘要: An adjustable position sensor is provided suitable for use with a clutch actuation control system. The position sensor includes: a rotatable shaft adapted to engage a control gear of the clutch actuation control system; and an encoder having a position indicator adjustably coupled to the shaft and operable to detect the position of the shaft over a range of motion that is less than the range of movement exhibited by the control gear. The position indicator of the encoder is adjustable in relation to the shaft so that the range of motion detected by the encoder can be correlated to an area of interest within the range of motion exhibited by the control gear.

摘要: A storage medium can comprise a substrate, a reflective layer disposed on a side of the substrate, and data. The substrate can comprise a thermoplastic and a light-mark formed from at least a portion of light-marking additive mixed with the thermoplastic, wherein an optical property of the light-marking additive at an optical drive read wavelength can change due to being contacted with a mark wavelength. A method for using a storage medium can comprise directing a reading device to detect an inspection area of the storage medium, and wherein the inspection area on an authentic medium has a light-mark in a substrate of the storage medium that forms an optically induced signature. The optically induced signature can be converted to a digital identification signature and the digital identification signature can be verified for authenticity.

摘要: This invention is a pre-made, re-closable, three-ply bag that has a clear serial number viewing window and is made from flexible packaging materials that collectively prevent corrosion from occurring on assets packaged within the bag while in transport or long-term storage. A VCI chemistry emitting film is used as the inner ply which surrounds the asset with corrosion preventive vapors. The center-play; provides ample cushioning and puncture resistance. The outer ply provides a strong puncture resistant vapor barrier which keeps corrosion causing elements from entering the bag and prevents corrosion inhibiting chemistry from escaping the bag. The use of a re-closable fastener enables asset packaging by un-skilled laborers as well as future asset inspection without compromising package integrity. Packing speed is forty times faster with this invention than previous methods. The invention also allows serial number verification without opening the package. Significant cost savings are achieved through its use.

摘要: The proposed meniscus suturing machine provides quick, strong, reliable sutures to torn medial menisci. An electronically controlled pneumatic system powers the suturing process. The meniscus suturing machine utilizes the chain stitch, a common sewing stitch, and applies it to the repair of torn menisci using only a single thread. The designed device is simple to use, with an on/off switch and fire button. While the device is simple, it has internal fault protection devices such as an automatic emergency shutoff and suture recovery loop. The device also comes apart easily, with a disposable needle-thread system. An autoclave sterilizes the remaining portion of the device. The initial application of the design is to suture medial menisci, but modifications will allow the suturing device to accommodate other areas too, such as the lateral meniscus. The benefits of the suturing device include a reduction in operating time and complexity of meniscus repairs.

摘要: A method for the plasma treatment of parts. The method includes sending loading signals from an electronic control to a transfer mechanism and loading the parts from a position outside of the treatment chamber to a plurality of treatment positions within the treatment chamber based on the loading signals. A plasma is generated within the treatment chamber to treat the parts. After treatment, unloading signals are sent from the electronic control to the transfer mechanism and the parts are unloaded from the treatment chamber based on the unloading signals. Each of the parts may be guided to a corresponding one of the treatment positions during loading.
