    摘要: The present invention discloses a composition for high refractive index plastic lens consisting of a monomer mixture wherein a particular aliphatic thiol compound is added to a polyisocyanate represented by general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein each X represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; each R represents a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, a methyl group or an ethyl group; m represents an integer of 0-4; and n represents an integer of 2-4, and a polythiol of formula (2): ##STR2## and a high refractive index plastic lens made of a urethane-containing resin obtained by polymerizing said composition.

    摘要: A mercapto compound represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## is obtained by reacting, in the presence of a mineral acid, thiourea with a compound represented by the following formula (2): wherein X means a hydroxyl group or a chlorine or bromine atom, and then adding a base to alkalinize the reaction mixture so that the reaction product is hydrolyzed.The mercapto compound represented by the formula (1) can be reacted with at least one cyanate compound selected from the group consisting of polyisocyanate compounds, polyisothiocyanate compounds and isocyanate-group-containing isothiocyanate compounds to form a sulfur-containing urethane resin lens made of the resin is colorless and transparent, has high refractive index and low dispersion characteristics, and is excellent especially in heat resistance.

    摘要: Metal complexes of halogen-substituted o-benzenedithiols of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein X represents a chlorine or bromine atom, Y and Z represent each a hydrogen or chlorine atom when X is a chlorine atom or they represent each a hydrogen or bromine atom when X is a bromine atom, M represents a nickel, palladium or platinum atom, and A represents a quaternary ammonium group, are provided.These metal complexes have a high compatibility with resins and are useful as near infrared absorbers. Halogen-substituted o-benzenedithiols of the formula: ##STR2## wherein X, Y and Z have the same meaning as above; used as starting materials for the above metal complexes are also new compounds.

    摘要: Disclosed herein are a resin for high-refractivity lenses, formed by copolymerizing at least one unifunctional monomer selected from the group of compounds represented by the following general formula (I); ##STR1## wherein X means a oxygen or sulfur atom, Y denotes a chlorine or bromine atom, R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, m is 0 or 1 and n stands for an integer of 1-5 with at least one bifunctional monomer selected from the group of compounds represented by the following general formula (II); ##STR2## wherein Z is a hydrogen, chlorine or bromine atom, R means a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and p stands for an integer 1-4 as well as high-refractivity lenses made of such a resin. The lens-making resin according to this invention features a high refractive index, excellent processability such as superb grinding processability and high impact resistance, especial outstanding miscibility between the unifunctional monomer and bifunctional monomer upon copolymerization thereof, owing to the similarity of the molecular structure between the unifunctional monomer and the bifunctional monomer. Accordingly, it barely results in development of polymerization strain upon copolymerization thereof.

The lens-making resin according to this invention features a high refractive index, excellent processability such as superb grinding processability and high impact resistance, outstanding miscibility between the unifunctional monomer and bifunctional monomer upon copolymerization thereof, and minimized polymerization strain.
