    摘要: A toner is provided which is excellent in low-temperature fixability and offset resistance, has a wide fixing temperature range, provides fixed images with high gloss, and can form toner images having high quality. The toner is composed of toner particles having toner base particles each containing a binder resin and a colorant. When the viscosities of each of the toner particles measured at 100° C. and 110° C. by a flow tester heat-up method are represented by η100 (Pa·s) and η110 (Pa·s), respectively, an average variation in viscosity AηT represented by the following equation (1) satisfies the relationship of 0≧AηT≧−0.064: AηT=(log(η100)−log(η100)/(110−100)  (1); and η100 is 15,000 to 40,000 Pa·s.

    摘要: A non-metallic black toner is disclosed. The toner has toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a carbon black and an organometallic compound, and an external additive. The toner particles contain 10 to 200 ppm of at least one kind of alkali metal element and at least one kind of organometallic compound. The toner particles further contain a polyester resin. The non-metallic black toner has a weight-average particle diameter of 4 to 11 &mgr;m, the following loss tangents tan &dgr; shown by dielectric loss factor ∈″/dielectric constant ∈′ at frequencies of 5×104 Hz and 105 Hz: tan &dgr; (5×104 Hz)≦0.0125 tan &dgr; (105 Hz)≦0.0105, a Carr's flowability index of 50 or more, and a Carr's floodability index of 65 or more. Also, an image forming method is disclose using the black toner.

    摘要: A toner for developing an electrostatic image is constituted by a binder resin and a long-chain compound. The binder resin is a polyester resin or vinyl resin respectively having an acid value of preferably 25-70 mgKOH/g. The long-chain compound is a long-chain alkyl alcohol having an OH value of 10-120 mgKOH/g or a long-chain alkyl carboxylic acid having an acid value of 5-120 mgKOH/g and is contained so as to satisfy a condition of the following formula (1) or formula (2): Formula (1) acid value of binder resin +OH value of long-chain alkyl alcohol >(¼)×OH value of binder resin, or Formula (2) acid value of binder resin +acid value of long-chain alkyl carboxylic acid >(¼)×OH value of binder resin. The toner is characterized by a good balance between fixing performances and developing performances suitable for a variety of models of image forming apparatus and in wide ranges of environmental conditions.

The toner has, in its molecular weight distribution as measured by gel permeation chromatography, tetrahydrofuran-soluble matter having a weight average molecular weight Mw of 100,000 or more, having a ratio of weight average molecular weight Mw to number average molecular weight Mn, Mw/Mn, of not less than 35, containing from 70% to 94% of a low-molecular weight region component having a molecular weight of less than 150,000, containing from 1% to 10% of a medium-molecular weight region component having a molecular weight of from 150,000 to 500,000, and containing from 5% to 25% of a high-molecular weight region component having a molecular weight of more than 500,000. The high-molecular weight region component is more than the medium-molecular weight region component.

    摘要: The present invention provides a silica fine particle capable of preventing a charging member or an image bearing member from being contaminated with toner when the toner contains the particle and also capable of providing the toner with a stable developing property. The silica fine particle of the present invention has been hydrophobic treated. Furthermore, the particle has a peak in a range of 0.04 μm to 1 μm and a peak in the range of 1 μm to 100 μm in a volume-basis particle diameter distribution. The particle has a frequency ratio of 10 to 80% for the particles with a particle diameter of 0.04 μm to 1 μm to a total of all the peaks, and the particles has the frequency ratio of less than 16% for the particles with a particle diameters of 20 μm to 2000 μm to the total of all the peaks.
