摘要： A tape cartridge includes a case, which is made of a lower case and an upper case, for accommodating a reel wound with a magnetic tape. The lower case includes a bottom surface disposed with two positioning holes formed separately from each other on a straight line orthogonal to a direction in which the tape cartridge is loaded into a drive device. The lower case also includes a front wall disposed with two surfaces for regulating a depth to which the case is loaded in the drive device. The two surfaces are positioned on straight lines that pass along the loading direction through the center of the positioning holes when seen from below. Positioning pins of the drive device are inserted into the positioning holes when regulating protrusions of the drive device abut against the two surfaces to regulate the depth to which the case is loaded.

摘要： A recording tape cartridge comprises: a case which is substantially rectangular, and at which an upper case and a lower case are joined together with peripheral walls thereof abutting one another, and which rotatably accommodates a single reel on which a recording tape is wound; and an opening formed at a corner portion of the case at a side of loading the case into a drive device, the opening being for pulling out of a leader member attached to an end portion of the recording tape. Concave portions, which extend over the upper case and the lower case and which are isosceles trapezoidal in plan view, are formed at a peripheral wall of the case at the side of loading the case into the drive device. In accordance with this structure, a peripheral wall, whose end portion is a free end due to an opening being formed, can be reinforced, and thereby a deterioration in strength of the peripheral wall can be prevented.

摘要： A recording tape cartridge which can be loaded in a drive device by a robot hand which grips the recording tape cartridge from above and below. A pair of ribs along a loading direction of a recording tape cartridge are formed at an angled surface portion of a lower case. A separation distance between these ribs is substantially the same as a width of a lower hand portion of a robot hand. The robot hand grips the recording tape cartridge such that the lower hand portion of the robot hand is disposed between the two ribs. When the recording tape cartridge is being loaded into the drive device, the ribs abut against lateral direction end surfaces of the lower hand portion. Thus, positioning of the recording tape cartridge in the lateral direction relative to the lower hand portion is achieved through the ribs.

Although the rotation-limiting ribs and the seating ribs are different in shape from each other in order to meet their respective functional requirements, chucked portions of the rotation-limiting rib and seating rib, for fitting into the respective grasping recesses of the chuck members, have substantially the same shape.

摘要： A recording tape cartridge. An operation protrusion of an inadvertent erasure prevention plug is inserted into an operation hole, which is formed in a lower case, and exposed to the outside. The operation protrusion is operated in a first direction or a second direction, and thus permission for recording to a recording medium which is accommodated in the case is switched by movement of the inadvertent erasure prevention plug in the first direction or the second direction within the case. At edge portions of the operation hole toward the first direction and the second direction, recess portions communicate with the respective edge portions. Floors of the recess portions are defined by thin-wall straight portions at which an outer face of an angled rear wall of the case is recessed in parallel with an inner face thereof.

摘要： A cartridge has an angled face formed at a rear end side of a case accommodating a recording medium. An operation portion for switching between two modes is provided on the angled surface. The two modes are a mode which enables recording of the recording medium and a mode which disables recording. The angled face comprises an opening. A write-protect portion, which switches the cartridge between the two modes, is provided with the operation portion, which is for switching between the modes, and is disposed near the opening. The operation portion is operated by an operating movement. Resultantly, in a writing-disabled state, an opening/closing plate of the write-protect portion is positioned at the opening, and in a recording-enabled state, the opening/closing plate is moved away from the opening. Thus, a user can judge from the rear end side which of the two modes the cartridge is in.

摘要： Possibility/impossibility of recording onto a recording medium accommodated in a cartridge is switched by moving a plug for preventing accidental deletion of information recorded on the recording medium along a bottom plate of a lower case. A projecting portion is formed at the plug. A flexible pin projects from an upper case so as to form a detent structure together with the projecting portion. At the time of joining together the upper and lower cases, even when the plug is positioned between a position which express possibility of recording and a position which express impossibility of recording, as the upper and lower cases are joined together, the pin relatively slides along an inclined surface formed at a top end of the projecting portion, and the plug moves to the position which makes recording possible. In this way, assemblability is good.
