摘要： A bicycle kickstand which is adapted to attach to the cross brace of the chain stays of a bicycle frame. The kickstand is of the type having a housing with a transverse flange at an upper end which extends beneath the chain stays and a leg pivotally attached to the housing. The kickstand attaches to the cross brace by a lower jaw which is attached to the midportion of the flange, an upper jaw and a bolt which adjustably attaches the upper jaw to the lower jaw so that the jaws may be clamped against the cross brace. In a preferred embodiment, each of the jaws includes a concave clamping surface shaped to matingly engage the cross brace and provide a relatively large area of contact, thereby reducing the clamping force required to attach the kickstand to the frame securely.

摘要： The handlebar for a bicycle or similar vehicle is clamped by a pair of pillow blocks which are bolted to a first plate which in turn is attached to the bicycle stem. The first plate has a portion stamped outwardly to form a second plate connected to the first plate and angularly disposed with respect to it. A rim is also pressed out of the plane of the first plate along the edge of the opening formed by stamping out the second plate, and an upper portion of the bicycle stem is received in the opening in the first plate and permanently attached to it by means of a fillet weld around the opening at the lower surface of the first plate. The undersurface of the second plate bears against the upper end of the stem and is bolted to it by a bolt that extends through the second plate and the stem.

摘要： A system for notching tubes to facilitate their joinder to other tubes or rods, in which a first portion of the notch is formed by a rotary cutting action extending progressively inwardly into the tube side wall and then outwardly in an arcuate path, and the second portion of the notch is formed by a plunging, shearing action which simultaneously punches the entire second portion of the notch out of the wall of the tube. The apparatus for forming each of the notches preferably includes a pair of die halves which together define a tube receiving passage intersected by a tool receiving passage, and a cutting tool positioned in the tool receiving passage. The tool is provided with a substantially axially extending rotary cutting edge for forming the first portion of the notch and a shearing edge for punching out the second portion of the notch when the tool is plunged through the wall of a tube positioned in the intersection of the tube and tool receiving passages. In one form of the invention, two sets of tools and dies may be provided for simultaneously shaping both ends of a tube and a conveyor may be provided for carrying the tubes into and removing them from the tool and die sets.

摘要： A child vehicle includes a front portion having a front wheel and a first handlebar configured to steer the vehicle, and a rear portion coupled to the front portion and having a rear wheel. The front portion is capable of rotating relative to the rear portion about a first pivot axis. A pivot member is coupled to the vehicle and rotatable about a second pivot axis between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the pivot member operates as a seat for supporting a rider thereon to define a ride-on configuration. In the second position, the pivot member operates as a second handlebar to define a scooter configuration. The second handlebar is also configured to steer the vehicle when in the scooter configuration. The vehicle may include a graphical interface for decorating or otherwise marking the vehicle in a manner preferred by the child.

摘要： A pivot mechanism includes a base member configured to be coupled to a first element and a generally cylindrical rotating member configured to be coupled to a second element. An elongate pin extends through the base member and rotating member and defines a pivot axis. The rotating member is capable of rotating relative to the base member about the pivot axis. The elongate pin is movable in a direction generally parallel to the pivot axis between a secured position and a release position. In the secured position, the rotating member is prevented from rotating relative to the base member, and in the release position, the rotating member is permitted to rotate relative to the base member. The pivot mechanism may be incorporated into a scooter or a tricycle to provide different configurations thereof.

A method for coupling a pedal to a vehicle in a tool-less manner is also disclosed.

摘要： A tool-less coupling of a child vehicle having a front frame and a rear frame includes a post coupled to one of the front or rear frames; a locking insert having at least one flexible table coupled to the post, and a head tube coupled to the other of the front or rear frame, wherein an opening in a first end of the head tube is sized to cause inward flexing of the flexible tab as the post is inserted through the head tube, and the flexible tab flexes back outwardly after passing through the opening in the head tube so that a portion of the flexible tab is adjacent an end surface of the head tube such that the flexible tab cannot move back through the opening. Accordingly, the removal of the post from the head tube is prohibited and the front and rear frames are coupled together. A method for a tool-less assembly of a child vehicle is also disclosed.
