Abstract: A blood vessel wall thickness estimation method includes: obtaining behavioral information, which is numerical information about changes over time in positions of a plurality of predetermined points in a blood vessel wall, based on a video including the blood vessel wall obtained using four-dimensional angiography; generating estimation information for estimating a thickness of the blood vessel wall based on the behavioral information obtained in the obtaining; and outputting the estimation information generated in the generating. The estimation information is information in which at least one of the following is visualized: a change in displacement over time; a change in speed over time; a change in acceleration over time; a change in kinetic energy over time; a spring constant obtained from the displacement and the acceleration, and a Fourier coefficient obtained from the change in the displacement over time.

Abstract: In a method for creating isotope distribution data, samples for analysis having different concentrations of metabolites are prepared as samples containing metabolites of cells cultured in a medium containing a substrate labeled with a stable isotope, mass spectrometry is performed on each under the same analysis condition, mass spectrum data is analyzed for each to identify the type of the metabolites, and there are determined the number of metabolites included in a metabolite group made of unlabeled metabolites and/or isotopic isomers, and the signal intensities of mass peaks corresponding to all isotope isomers included in the metabolite group. The number of metabolites corresponding to all types of metabolites and the signal intensity are compared among the samples to select a sample for analysis for obtaining the isotope distribution, and data on the isotope distribution of the metabolite is integrated to create the isotope distribution data of the metabolite.

Abstract: A pressure receiving surface inclined to a rotation axis is provided on the side surface of a stir probe of a rotating tool. The pressure receiving surface includes a pressure receiving region which is always perpendicular to a rotation tangential direction in a cross section perpendicular to the rotation axis. In friction stir processing, the stir probe is caused to rotate in a rotation direction B in which the normal direction of the pressure receiving surface is positive. According to this kind of rotating tool, as it has no shoulder, a joint width does not increase even when a stirring region is deep, and also, a plastic flow in a rotation direction is generated by a pressure receiving surface, so that it is possible to reduce the proportion of the plastic flow in the rotation axis direction, and thus possible to suppress an occurrence of burr.
