Abstract: A cable preparation machine includes a frame forming a cable cutting zone and having a cable opening along a cable axis at the cable cutting zone receiving an end of a cable. The cable preparation machine includes a pulley assembly rotatably coupled to the frame about the cable axis, a drive assembly operably coupled to the pulley assembly to rotate the pulley assembly about the cable axis, and a blade assembly operably coupled to the pulley assembly and rotated with the pulley assembly about the cable axis. The blade assembly is configured for cutting an insulator from the end of the cable in a first cutting configuration when the cable is positioned in the cable opening and the blade assembly is configured for cutting a cable braid from the end of the cable in a second cutting configuration when the cable is positioned in the cable opening.

Abstract: A wire harness assembly including a first connector, a second connector, and conductors extending between the first connector and the second connector. Contacts are provided on the second connector. The contacts have termination sections which are mounted on the second connector, compliant sections which extend from the termination sections, and substrate engagement sections which extend from the compliant sections. The substrate engagement sections have curved contact sections which are configured to be positioned in mechanical and electrical engagement with circuit pads of a mating printed circuit board. Embossments are provided on the curved contact sections to provide additional strength and stability to the curved contact sections.

Abstract: An automatic calibration method of a robot system comprises providing a ball-rod member including a connection rod and a sphere connected to the connection rod, fixing the connection rod to an end execution tool mounted on a flange of a robot, providing distance sensors around a target point, and sensing an actual distance from each of the distance sensors to the sphere. The robot is controlled to move a center of the sphere to the target point in different poses based on the actual distances sensed by the distance sensors. A first transformation matrix of the center of the sphere with respect to a center of the flange is calculated based on pose data of the robot at the target point. A second transformation matrix of a center of the end execution tool with respect to the center of the flange is calculated based on the first transformation matrix.

Abstract: An ultrasonic cleaning system comprises a cleaning tank containing a cleaning liquid, a moving and holding device configured to move a carrier into the cleaning tank and hold the carrier in the cleaning tank, and an ultrasonic wave generator mounted in the cleaning tank. A plurality of fiber optic ferrules are mounted on the carrier and are immersed in the cleaning liquid when the moving and holding device holds the carrier in the cleaning tank. The ultrasonic wave generator is adapted to emit an ultrasonic wave into the cleaning liquid to clean the fiber optical ferrules immersed in the cleaning liquid.

Abstract: A connector assembly includes a connector module having a connector body with side edges and end edges. The connector body has contact channels holding contacts. The connector assembly includes a mounting frame having side walls and an end wall opposite a window between the side walls. The window is open to and provides access to a passage that receives the connector module. The mounting frame includes a connector module support structure for supporting the connector module in the passage that defines a confined space oversized relative to the connector body of the connector module to allow a limited amount of floating movement in the confined space in a lateral direction that is perpendicular to the mating direction.

Abstract: Pass through plates comprise a body with an opening between opposed first and second surfaces for accommodating the passage of electrical elements. One or more upper retaining elements project outwardly from the body and are positioned adjacent a body top portion. One or more lower retaining elements project from the body and are positioned adjacent a body bottom portion. The upper and lower retaining elements are each configured to both engage respective top and bottom sections of an opening in an external object, and to engage a backside surface of the external object when installed within the opening to retain the pass through plate for attachment with the external object. The upper and lower retaining elements are positioned to enable movement of the pass through plate from an upward position in the opening to a downward position in the opening for fixed attachment with the external object.

Abstract: A cable preparation machine includes a blade assembly having arms and braid blades mounted thereto and disposed about a cable opening receiving a cable end along a cable axis. The arms are movable between retracted positions and advanced positions to move the braid blades. The braid blades have edges configured to engage a cable braid of the cable to cut the cable braid. The cable preparation machine includes a mandrel coupled to the end of the cable between the cable braid and an inner insulator of the cable. The braid blades are rotated around the cable axis pressing the cable braid between the edges of the braid blades and the mandrel to cut the braid blade.

Abstract: A contactor includes a housing having an outer wall defining a cavity, fixed contacts and a movable contact within the cavity, and a coil assembly in the cavity operated to move the movable contact between an unmated position and a mating position with the fixed contacts. The contactor includes an arc suppressor in the cavity including a first magnet located in the cavity on a first side of the movable contact and a second magnet located in the cavity on a second side of the movable contact. The first magnet is arranged in the cavity such that a north B-field of the first magnet faces outward toward the outer wall of the housing. The second magnet is arranged in the cavity such that a north B-field of the second magnet faces outward toward the outer wall of the housing.

Abstract: An assembly system comprises a fixing device configured to fix a housing and a pressing mechanism adapted to assemble a contact into the housing. The pressing mechanism includes a fixing block having a contact guiding slot adapted to receive the contact therein and a movable block movably mounted on the fixing block and adapted to press the contact downward. The movable block is moved downward to press the contact received in the contact guiding slot into a contact installation slot of the housing in a condition in which the contact guiding slot of the fixing block is aligned with the contact installation slot of the housing.
