Abstract:
A junction box assembly includes a housing member and an electrical component. The housing member has a housing surface and a component receptacle having a pair of opposing sidewalls coupled to the housing surface. Each sidewall has a locking opening disposed therein and each locking opening defines a locking surface. A post is arranged within the component receptacle and extends from the housing surface for a predetermined distance to a post surface. The electrical component is received in the component receptacle and has a component surface adjacent the post surface and a barb received in each locking opening. The post applies a force to the electrical component for retaining the barb against the locking surface.
Abstract:
A connector assembly according to the present disclosure includes a connector body, a lock reinforcement, and a secondary lock. The connector body has a plurality of terminal cavities and a plurality of lock projections configured to engage a plurality of terminals to retain the terminals in the terminal cavities. The lock reinforcement is slidable relative to the connector body for engagement with a subset of the lock projections to maintain the lock projections engaged with a first subset of the terminals. The secondary lock is slidable relative to the connector body for engagement with a second subset of the terminals to retain the terminals in the terminal cavities independent from the lock projections. The secondary lock is coupled to the lock reinforcement such that moving one of the lock reinforcement and the secondary lock moves the other one of the lock reinforcement and the secondary lock.
Abstract:
A connector is provided that may include first and second housings. The first housing may include a first body and a lock arm. The first body may include a first receptacle. The lock arm may be pivotably coupled to the first body. The second housing may include a second body having a second receptacle and a support member. The first and second housings may be engageable with each other in a first position and a second position and movable relative to each other from the first position to the second position. The lock arm may be deflectable relative to the support member when the first and second housings are in the first position. The support member may restrict deflection of the lock arm when the first and second housings are in the second position.
Abstract:
An inline fuse holder for housing a fuse that electrically connects first and second wire terminals is provided. The inline fuse holder can generally include a cannulated fuse holder housing having a cylindrical inner periphery. The fuse holder housing can have a first end that defines a first opening, and a second end that defines a second opening. The first and second ends comprise first locking features. A first wire connector includes a connector housing that defines a through bore. The connector housing can have a boss configured to be received by the first opening of the fuse holder housing. The first wire connector further includes a second locking feature that is configured to selectively lock with one of the first locking features in the installed position.
Abstract:
An system for providing uniform and focused backlighting to a liquid crystal display (LCD) can be provided. The system can include at least one light source that emits light rays. The system can include at least one column having a first end positioned adjacent to the at least one light source, a second end adapted to be positioned adjacent to the LCD and a plurality of walls. The system can include an optical receptor coupled to the first end of the at least one column, which can include an angled side wall that can be coupled to the walls of the at least one column. The light rays from the at least one light source can be totally internally reflected by the angled side wall and walls to create at least one virtual light source to backlight the LCD.
Abstract:
A message center that can comprise a liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided. The LCD can be divided into one or more zones, with each zone being designated for a specific message. The message center can also include a light guide system positioned behind the liquid crystal display. The light guide system can have one or more light guides, with each of the light guides having a first end, and each of the light guides can be aligned with a zone of the liquid crystal display. The message center can further include a multi-color light emitting diode (LED) that can be mounted at the first end of each of the light guides, and a control system that can set the intensity of each of the multi-colors on each of the LEDs such that a backlighting of each zone is individually controlled.
Abstract:
A connector is provided. The connector can include a first housing, which can define a bore for receipt of at least one first electrical terminal. The first housing includes a first wall defining an aperture opposite a second wall. The connector can include a second housing, which can define a bore for receipt of at least one second electrical terminal. The second housing includes a first wall including a first engagement feature opposite a second wall. The connector includes a first rotatable element retained within the aperture of the first wall. The first rotatable element includes a first feature that engages the first engagement feature and a second feature. The connector can include a mechanical assist, which can include an assist feature. The assist feature can engage the second feature so that sliding movement of the mechanical assist draws the first electrical terminal into contact with the second electrical terminal.
Abstract:
A connector assembly has a first part with an interior for receiving right-angle electrical terminals through an insertion end. Wire-connect segments of the terminals seat within cradle-like members aligned in sets of rows extending across the width of the interior. Electrical mating segments of the terminals extend perpendicularly from the wire-connect segments. A second part of the connector assembly has chambers for receiving the mating segments of the terminal and a compartment with inner cradle-like members aligned in sets of rows across the compartment. The cradle-like members of the first and second parts are arranged to correspond in position to each other when the second part is assembled on the first part so the wire-connect segments are clamped within the cradle-like members, reducing vibrational and other motion of the terminals within the assembly.
Abstract:
An electrical terminal is sealed for use in high voltage vehicle systems. The terminal has a cylindrical section positioned between a contact section for mating with another electrical contact or terminal and a crimp section for mechanically and electrically securing the terminal to an electrical wire. The cylindrical section is integral with both the contact section and the crimp section, and includes an outer surface with a circumferential groove. The groove receives and retains an o-ring seal for preventing contaminant seepage between the contact section and the crimp section when the contact section is inserted into a connector for mating with the other contact or terminal. The contact section may be either a substantially flat eyelet contact, a male contact or female contact.
Abstract:
A current measurement control system for a power supply system is provided. The current measurement control system includes a load module that estimates a total load of the power supply system. An amplification module selectively determines an amplification factor based on the total load and amplifies a current signal based on the amplification factor. A current measurement module measures current based on the amplified current signal.
