    摘要: A system for maneuvering and hanging articles on rails. The system is operable to select one or more hanging articles, disengage their hooks from the rails, reposition them, and re-hang them in a new position on the rails. The system includes a cart for lateral movement upon a set of rails, the cart having wings for lifting hanging articles off the rails and setting hanging articles onto the rails. The cart has a lifting mechanism, which can be lowered so as to drop hanging articles down to a work area or to raise the hanging articles for placement upon the rails. The system may be employed in a greenhouse for moving hanging baskets of plants.

    摘要: A low profile commercial greenhouse is provided which is adapted for growing plants, as well as methods for using same. The low profile commercial greenhouse includes a housing having an upper end, a lower end, and a plant retaining space, wherein the plant retaining space has a height sufficient to provide a predetermined amount of spatial clearance between the upper end of the housing and an upper end of living items growing therein to permit circulation of air and other fluids about at least a portion of the living items. The housing of the low profile commercial greenhouse may be provided with a lid or door therein for accessing the plant retaining space, and one or more apertures may be formed in the housing for modifying the atmosphere contained therein. The low profile commercial greenhouse may be provided with a conveyor disposed therein for conveying items within the plant retaining space of the housing such that the items are provided with more uniform exposure to light.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for harvesting agricultural products, in particular fruit, such as capsicums, tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergines, peppers, etc., from plants which are cultivated in greenhouses. The product-bearing plants are cultivated in parallel rows. Between the said rows, processing passages which extend in the longitudinal direction thereof are provided, in such a manner that each row adjoins a said processing passage. Between the said rows, harvest conveyor tracks which extend in the longitudinal direction thereof are arranged, in such a manner that each row adjoins said harvest conveyor track. The product to be picked from a specific row is harvested from the processing passage which adjoins this specific row, is laid onto the harvest conveyor track which adjoins this specific row and by the said harvest conveyor track is removed to a delivery point at one of the ends of the said specific row. The invention also relates to a device for using the method according to the invention.

    摘要: Apparatus for carrying plants periodically to a watering station while ensuring that said plants are uniformly exposed to light. The apparatus includes at least one conveyor in the form of an endless cable disposed about a pair of spaced drums. One of the drums is driven by a motor to cause the cable to be circulated about the drums. The cable supports a plurality of plant hangers at spaced locations there along. Each hanger is arranged so that when a plant is suspended therefrom it is in a first orientation arranged to trip a sensor at the watering station to water the plant. The hanger is also arranged to automatically assume a second orientation when no plant is suspended therefrom. In the second orientation the hanger does not trip the sensor at the watering station. The cable is arranged to be driven at a slower speed during watering operations and at a higher speed during plant loading and unloading operations. By virtue of the movement of the conveyor through the greenhouse each plant is uniformly exposed to light reaching the conveyor.The present invention also includes a special form of the hanger means having a locking clip, so that the hanger means will be positively held on the conveyor means.

A method of cultivating plants comprises dividing the cultivating area of a plant cultivation unit into two plots providing a room allowing artificial production of day and night conditions and treating plants in each of said plots in a similar cycle of 24 hours comprising a day period and a night period each cycle being composed of portions of the natural cycle of day and night and of portions of day conditions and night conditions artificially produced by maintaining each of the plots in the said room. The artificial day and night conditions relate to light and darkness and also to associated conditions such as temperature and humidity. As shown two rooms 6, 7 are located above the cultivating area and are displaceable on wheels 4, 5 along rails 2, the room 7 being such that it can be shifted into and through the room 6. The room 7 has an air conditioning plant 8, illuminating means 9, darkening means and irrigation means. The ends of the rooms 6, 7 may be closed by flexible walls and the rooms may be displaced along the rails by automatic control in accordance with the desired programme. In a modification the plants are grown in beds supported on a conveyer one portion of which is located within the artificial room and the other portion in the open air or in a greenhouse.

    摘要: A system for controlling and managing hydroponic or similar cultivations positioned inside at least one modular shelf (20, 23) is described, comprising a plurality of modular spaces (A, B, C) each adapted to contain at least one tray (21) for containing vegetable crops and a light source (22) adapted to illuminate a tray for containing vegetable crops. Each modular space (A, B, C) is provided with support elements for the trays, vertically separated by predetermined distances. The trays (21) may be moved inside each shelf. The shelf (20, 23) comprises a modular space adapted to house a tray (21) inside which space a control and management station (26) operates, comprising sensors able to determine the biological parameters of the vegetable crops, and actuators (31) able to correct said biological parameters for bringing them back to predetermined growth values.
