摘要： The device for embossing and perforating foils for tobacco goods includes: a pair of embossing rolls, one of the embossing rolls having teeth for perforating the foil, the counter roll to the embossing roll with the perforating teeth being a matrix roll which has recesses that correspond to the teeth on the patrix roll, both embossing rolls being arranged in a perforation device, and the device being designed in order to be operated directly or indirectly online in a machine for producing tobacco goods. The use of patrix-matrix embossing rolls allows for a large variety of perforations, the device having a control unit designed to control the exact position, size and arrangement of the perforations on the basis of the quality of the foil to be processed.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a coated plug wrap for a smoking article. The coated plug wrap is comprised of a base paper and a coating. In accordance with the present disclosure, the base paper may be comprised of hardwood pulp fibers and optionally, softwood pulp fibers. The base paper may be coated with a coating material such as an acrylate, a styrene, a butadiene, a starch, a starch derivative, a cellulose derivative, an alginate, a polyvinyl alcohol, a polyvinyl acetate, a gelatin, a gum, or a combination thereof. In one embodiment, the coated plug wrap may be incorporated into a smoking article.

摘要： A wrapper of a smoking article includes a base web and at least one transverse banded region. The banded region includes a first zone, a second zone and a third zone of add-on material. The second zone has about 25% to about 75% less add-on material than the first zone and the third zone. The banded region is about 5 mm to about 9 mm wide and the second zone is centrally located between the first zone and the third zone. The second zone includes a plurality of dots of the add-on material spaced from adjacent dots in the second zone by a distance greater than a distance between adjacent dots in the first zone and the third zone.

摘要： Cigarettes are manufactured using modified automated cigarette making apparatus. Those cigarettes possess smokable rods having wrapping paper having additive materials applied thereto as patterns. The additive materials, which can include a starch and/or a polymer, are applied to a continuous paper web either online or offline the cigarette making apparatus. The formulation can be applied to the paper web using application apparatus possessing a series of rollers. In particular, a wrapping paper for a smokable rod can include a pattern of bands having a water-insoluble material comprising a starch ester, a starch-coated inorganic filler, and/or a thermoplastic polymer in an amount such that the material is sufficiently deformable so as to (a) reduce an amount of pressure to apply the bands, (b) decrease paper diffusivity, and (c) maintain paper opacity at a level acceptable for commercial production of the smokable rods.

摘要： The invention relates to a cigarette paper for self-extinguishing cigarettes. The cigarette paper comprises bands onto which a material reducing the diffusion capacity is applied, wherein a band comprises two band-like outer zones (18a, 18b) and a band-like central zone (20) therebetween. The said material is applied substantially over the entire surface up to the outer zones (18a, 18b) of the band (10). The aforementioned material is additionally applied to at least 70%, preferably at least 75% and/or at most 95%, preferably at most 90% of the surface of the central zone (20). The surface (22) to which the said material is applied is path-connected. The surface of the central zone (20), to which the said material is applied is likewise path-connected.

摘要： A method of manufacturing coated paper by applying a coating liquid to a strip-shaped web of paper to form a plurality of bands extending in the width direction of the web and spaced from each other in the longitudinal direction of the web includes: a coating step (S1) of applying the coating liquid to the web to form the bands with a coating band pitch narrower than a design band pitch defined as a standard for the coated paper; an aftertreatment step (S2), executed after the coating step, of drying the web; and a tension applying step (S3), executed after the aftertreatment step, of expanding the band pitch of the web by applying tension to the web to cause the band pitch of the web to approach the design band pitch.

摘要： A process for reducing the permeability of a paper wrapper used in the construction of a smoking article is disclosed. The paper wrapper is treated with a film-forming composition that forms treated discrete areas on the wrapper. The treated discrete areas have a permeability within a predetermined range sufficient to reduce the ignition proclivity properties of a smoking article made with the wrapper. In accordance with the present invention, the film-forming composition contains a film-forming material. The film-forming material has a relatively low viscosity. In this manner, the film-forming composition can have a relatively high solids content and still be applied to the wrapper using conventional techniques, such as by using a gravure printer.
