摘要： A hand-held, motorized depilating device, introducing a novel mechanical design to provide improved depilating coverage and hair plucking efficiency, without requiring the user to pass the device over the same given skin, area numerous times. The hair-plucking assembly is rotatable about a shaft and includes at least two disc assemblies, each comprising a pair of complimentary discs, mounted on a hub, and having radially extending arms which terminate in a flattened peripheral portion, which when pressed against a corresponding portion forms a trap for the hair. At least one of the radially extending arms is bent so that the associated hair trap lies in a different predetermined plane than the other hair-traps associated with that disc assembly. This staggered arrangement results in improved depilating coverage. In another embodiment, the hub's edge has formed thereon a pinch plate, disposed in between the complementary discs, thereby doubling the number of hair-traps, and greatly increasing depilating efficiency.

摘要： An appliance for removing hairs growing from skin is provided with a clamping device and a cutting device cooperating therewith. The clamping device clamps the hairs to be removed and subsequently extracts them at least partly from the skin, whereupon the hairs extracted partly from the skin are cut through adjacent the skin by the cutting device. The hairs thus cut through return to below the surface of the skin, so that a smooth shaving result is achieved which remains intact during a considerable period. According to the invention, the appliance is provided with structure for adjusting an extraction distance over which the clamping device extracts the hairs from the skin before they are cut through by the cutting device. In a special embodiment, the structure is adjustable to a first mode in which the appliance purely has a shaving function and to a second mode in which the appliance purely has a depilation function.

摘要： A hand-held depilating device capable of masking the pain of plucking the hairs through psychological effect. The depilating device comprises housing adapted to be grasped by the hand of the user and a plucking head mounted on top of the housing for plucking the hairs from the skin. Stimulator is mounted on top of the housing adjacent to the plucking head for providing mechanical stimuli to the skin while the plucking head operates to pluck the hairs. The stimulator comprises a vibrator which provides vibrations to the skin as the mechanical stimuli which act on sense receptors other than nociceptors that respond to pain, thereby masking the pain caused by plucking the hairs or received at the nociceptors. That is, the mechanical stimuli caused by the vibrations can activate Meissner's corpuscle or Pacinian corpuscle to make indistinct to the pain as demonstrated by a gate-control theory in psychology. Thus, the mechanical stimuli applied separately from the plucking operation can excite the tactile or pressure sense receptors so as to activate the gate control path at posterior horn of the spinal cord immediately before or simultaneously with the plucking the hair, thereby blurring the pain being transmitted through the nerve. Alternately, roller with stimulus projections may be utilized to apply the mechanical stimuli for alleviation of the pain.

Each pair of adjoining pinching discs (35) is pivotable under the influence of a compression member (83) into a pinching position in which two cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) exert a pinching force on one another. The pivot axis (113) of each pair of pinching discs (35) is determined by a stud part (55b) of a bipartite stud (55) of one of the two pinching discs (35) and by the mutually facing steps (41) of the two pinching discs (35). The cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) are supported on either side in the pinching position by the stud parts (55b) and (55a), respectively, of the bipartite studs (55) of the adjoining pinching discs (35), so that a substantially straight force transmission path is created in the pinching position. Each pair of cooperating pinching discs is provided with a delaying stud (59) by which the pinching position is temporarily delayed after tilting of the pinching discs (35) about the pivot axis (113). Furthermore, each pair of cooperating pinching surfaces (67, 63) is provided with two nose-shaped combs (73, 71) which are bent into a hair-trapping funnel.

摘要： A device for removing body hair, which includes a housing a hair-plucking portion which is rotatably mounted to the housing. The hair-plucking portion includes one or more disc assemblies, each of which includes a pair of complementary discs, each of which has one or more radially extending arms which terminate in a flattened peripheral portion. When the corresponding portions of the two discs are pressed together, they form a trap for the hair. The disc assemblies also include a hub which accommodates a pair of discs, one on each of its axial faces. The hub has shoulders for engaging the arms of each of the discs so as to impart rotational motion to the discs upon the rotation of the hub. The hub also has at pairs of protrusions which extend axially beyond the plane of arms of each disc. The hub further has an edge which is perpendicular to its axis such that each pair of arms of the pair of discs is pivotable about the edge so as to alternately bring the corresponding flattened peripheral portions of the discs together to form a trap and apart to eject the removed hair. The hubs may be mounted on a fixed curved shaft and may be connected so that each hub transfers the rotational motion to the adjoining hub. Alternatively, the hubs may be mounted on a rotatable straight shaft which imparts rotational motion to each hub.

摘要： A depilating device removes hairs from the skin of a user and includes a carrier mounting a series of movable and fixed pinching plates arranged along a carrier axis in an alternating relation and in a closely adjacent relation to form small clearances between the adjacent movable and fixed pinching plates for entrapping hairs therebetween. A drive means is connected to drive the carrier to move the movable and fixed plates about the carrier axis. The movable plates are operatively connected to a shuttle means which is movable together with the carrier about the carrier axis but are shiftable therealong relative to the carrier so as to displace the movable plates along the carrier axis to repeat clamping the hairs between the adjacent pairs of the movable and fixed plates as the carrier moves about the carrier axis, whereby plucking the hairs from the skin. Also included in the device is a positive-return cam means which is connected to the shuttle means and is caused to rotate relative to the shuttle means about a cam axis parallel with the carrier axis so as to shift it along the carrier axis for displacing the movable plates relative to the fixed pinching plates. The positive-return cam means is connected to the carrier through the shuttle means and the movable plates in such a mutual supporting relation as to restrict the movements of the positive-return cam means and the carrier relative to each other in the direction parallel to the carrier axis.
