摘要: The invention provides a sleeve containing a non-removable therapeutic agent within that is used to provide a variety of therapeutic modalities. The sleeve is constructed of an inner and outer layer of flexible materials suitable to pulled onto a portion of the body such as elbow, wrist, ankle, knee, or other limb for application of therapy. A therapeutic agent of choice becomes non-removable, permanently contained between the inner and outer layers. Various therapeutic agents may be chosen to delivery a wide range of modality. Microwave activated particulates may be contained within the inner and outer coverings to provide moist heat therapy. Metallic particulates may be chosen for cold therapy applications. Outer layers may be insulated to improve heat retention to extend therapeutic time. So constructed, a therapeutic sleeve is provided to delivery heat, cold, or contrast therapy to an affected body part of a human or animal subject.

摘要: A tubular brace constructed so that no seam overlies the fold line of the surface skin behind the user's knee, or on top of the user's elbow, when the brace is being worn, thereby minimizing abrasive discomfort at those surface skin fold areas. Specifically, a first rear surface stitch line is positioned above the surface skin fold line at the knee or elbow joint, and a second rear surface stitch line is positioned below that surface skin fold line, these stitch lines being generally transverse to the brace's longitudinal axis, and these stitch lines cooperating with a generally longitudinal stitch line that extends between the brace's top and bottom edges.

摘要: An apparatus for molding a protective pad or the like, and which includes a convex mold surface having a plurality of perforations therethrough, and a cooperating concave mold surface also having a plurality of perforations therethrough. The two mold surfaces are mounted for relative movement with respect to each other and such that the concave mold surface initially faces upwardly to receive the molding material therein, and then is inverted and translated downwardly into face to face relationship with the convex mold surface. The apparatus includes a vacuum system for drawing a partial vacuum beneath the concave mold surface to maintain a predetermined distribution of molding material on the concave mold surface during the movement thereof, and means is provided for introducing steam into the mold cavity to cure the molding material.

摘要: An engineered designed article providing multi-directional support. Portions of three or more overlapping, circular-like bodies are integrated on a flexible planar membrane into products, such as bandages, headgear, tool handles, lumbar pillows, backpacks, cervical supports, and back supports, to offer a multi-directional, (360° quadrant) support or pressure-concentrating area, to enhance specific support at the medial, lateral, inferior and/or superior part of a body part. The article can be made of material that is waterproof, acts as a shock absorber, and provides multi-directional support. Medicaments can be infused into the pressure-concentrating area of the support or into the membrane itself. An aperture for accepting IV needles is also provided.

摘要: An injured limb protector (10) includes a pad (11), a tubular pad cover (12) surrounding the pad, and a tubular sleeve (13). The pad is a dual density material having an outer layer (16) which is made of a high density material bonded to an inner layer (17) which is made of a low density material. The outer layer is scored or cut to allow manipulation of the pad to conform to an elbow or heel. The pad includes a central portion (19), two oppositely disposed end flaps (22) and two oppositely disposed side flaps (23), which allow it to be formed into a cup-shaped pad. The sleeve is provided with a visible alignment line (26) oriented longitudinally upon the one side (15) of the sleeve to which the pad is mounted.
