Abstract: An orientation independent delivery device. The delivery device includes a gas chamber, a delivery chamber, a gas cell, and a delivery aperture. The gas chamber includes a gas-side rigid portion and a gas-side flexible barrier. The gas-side flexible barrier is sealed to the gas-side rigid portion. The delivery chamber includes a delivery-side rigid portion and a delivery-side flexible barrier. The delivery-side flexible barrier is sealed to the delivery-side rigid portion and is oriented adjacent to the gas-side flexible barrier. The gas cell is coupled to the gas-side rigid portion of the gas chamber. The gas cell increases a gas pressure within the gas chamber to expand the gas-side flexible barrier. Expansion of the gas-side flexible barrier applies a compressive force to the delivery-side flexible barrier allowing a delivery material to escape from the delivery chamber.

Abstract: A squeeze bottle, useful for atomizing liquids such as perfumes, medications, insecticides, or the like, by manually squeezing the bottle while orienting the bottle to direct the resulting atomized spray for a desired application. The squeeze bottle utilizes ambient air and contains an inner, compliant pouch for storing a liquid. The pouch is configured so that it deforms by the hydrostatic air pressure generated within the bottle during a squeezing action. This deformation assists in transferring liquid from the pouch into the bottle's spray nozzle where the liquid is atomized in a swirl airflow and dispersed by the expelled ambient air.

Abstract: A disperser system includes a disperser body that defines a substantially air-tight chamber therein. A sprayer assembly includes a passage, a fluid coupling, a nozzle, a valve, a valve trigger and a pouch. The passage is in fluid communication with the chamber. The valve is in fluid communication with both the passage and the fluid coupling and opens to the nozzle. The valve trigger is configured selectively to open the valve, thereby placing the passage and the fluid coupling in fluid communication with the nozzle. The pouch contains a fluid. When the chamber is charged with a gas and when the valve is opened, the gas flows through the passage and the fluid flows through the fluid coupling into the valve so that the gas entrains the fluid and delivers a suspension of the gas and the fluid to the nozzle, out of which the suspension is sprayed.

Abstract: A dispensing head for a squeeze dispenser is disclosed. The dispensing head includes a mixing chamber where pressurized air and pressurized fluid are mixed to produce a fine spray. A valved gasketing arrangement is used to control the flow of air into the container and out of the dispensing head, as well as to control flow of liquid to the dispensing head and to prevent leakage when the dispenser is inverted. The dispensing head also includes a liquid flow control device. This device uses a spring-biased piston to shut off the liquid flow path when the liquid is not pressurized. The piston acts to seal off the liquid from the atmosphere, thus preventing drying or contamination of the liquid product. A collapsible bag is also disclosed for isolating the liquid in the container from the air in the container.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a spray bottle in which the pressure resulting from the gripping force applied by the user is amplified and this increased pressure used in generating a spray such as an aerosol or fluid stream. In its preferred embodiment, the invention includes a high pressure chamber and a corresponding piston which is operative for driving fluid out of this chamber at high pressure through a spray nozzle and a low pressure chamber and a corresponding piston which is acted upon the hydraulic pressure within the bottle resulting from the gripping force. The low pressure chamber and piston are of larger size than the high pressure chamber and piston. The pistons are rigidly connected so that the force created by the pressure acting on the piston in the low pressure chamber is transmitted to the piston in the high pressure chamber where it is applied over a more limited area thereby generating greater hydraulic pressure for use in forming the spray.
