Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for a system and process for applying a flux coating to a circuit board by pulsing an airless spray gun on and off to achieve excellent circuit board through-hole penetration and uniform film thickness. An overspray collection system is provided which reduces overspray and increases material utilization and transfer efficiency. A gun positioning mechanism, which can be automated, accurately locates the gun relative to the circuit board.
Abstract:
A plurality of injector elements are mounted on a frame and within a nozzle above a subjacent support for depositing a layer of pulverulent product on the support. In order to change the predetermined spacing of the injectors, they are selectively connected to a shuttle which is moved by a digitally controlled stepping motor to a predetermined position, after which they are separated from the shuttle. A solenoid mounted on each of the injectors can be activated to frictionally hold the injector at its predetermined position.
Abstract:
This invention is for a mist spraying device which is comprised of a multi-medium nozzle which is attached within a mist spray bowl to an adapter head by which the device is connected to the media supply lines. The adapter head can be swivelled about an axis which forms an angle .alpha. of between 15.degree. and 45.degree. with respect to a central axis of the mist spray bowl.
Abstract:
An improved coating pan apparatus and spray arm assembly are disclosed for providing facilitated maintenance and cleaning of sensitive spray nozzles. The spray arm assembly includes means for varying the spray length and spray angle from a position external to the coating drum. Additionally, this invention provides adjustment means for removing the fixture containing the spray nozzles entirely from the coating drum and laterally from the coating apparatus housing for purging.
Abstract:
Apparatus for spraying of liquids for herbicidal and insecticidal application and the like has a supporting frame for being carried by a vehicle. An upright support is carried by the frame including an upright post and includes a hydraulic cylinder for providing selective vertical telescoping movement of the post. A hydraulic cylinder provides rotation of the post, for rotating a boom carried by the post. A hydraulic cylinder also provides selective pivoting of the supporting boom section relative to the post for vertical movement. The boom has a supporting boom section, a mid-boom section and a reconfigurable boom end element which may be either an articulating tip boom section or a strip spray attachment of "wishbone" configuration. A hydraulic motor provides selective telescoping movement of the mid-boom section relative to the supporting boom sections. The supporting boom section, mid-boom section and boom end element all include spray nozzles.
Abstract:
An eyeball fitting 10 for directing return water into a swimming pool has an eyeball 20 with a smooth and even inside surface 25 curving continuously from an entrance opening 26 to a discharge opening 21 having a sharp edge 22. The curvature of inside surface 25 has a radius that gradually increases as inside surface 25 gradually diminishes in cross-sectional area proceeding from larger diameter entrance opening 26 to smaller diameter discharge edge 22. Fitting 10 includes a seat 30 having a spherical recess 33 to receive a spherical outside surface 24 of eyeball 20, and seat 30 has an internal surface 35 continuously curving at a gradually increasing radius of curvature proceeding from an entrance side toward the spherical recess 33.
Abstract:
A hydrocannon system for removing deposits from surfaces, such as in the cyclone burner of an electrical generating station. A high pressure spray of water is propelled through the nozzle of a gun at high pressure to hydroblast material to be cleaned from the surface. The gun is self supported on a rack for adjustable vertical movement, up and down tilting movement, and swinging movement about an axis for a 360.degree. arc.
Abstract:
A mobile gunning apparatus is disclosed that is particularly adapted for applying refractory material to the interior of coke ovens, or the like. The apparatus is arranged for mounting on a wheeled vehicle and includes an extendable boom carrying the gunning nozzle and structure enabling the boom and nozzle to be universally movable with respect to the vehicle.
Abstract:
A pipe for gunning a slurry of refractory material and water is rotatably received within a tubular boom. The composition of the slurry is maintained uniform by a water control valve before a mixing tee. The boom is encased in insulation and cooled by a flow of compressed air through an internal annular space around the rotating gunning pipe. The boom is received within roller supports in a barrel framework to permit the longitudinal extension of the boom to be varied. The barrel rocks up and down in a bracket on a turntable which swivels upon a motorized carriage. The longitudinal movement of the boom relative to the barrel and rocking of the barrel and contained boom are actuated by hydraulic piston and cylinder assemblies.
Abstract:
A long and large pipe is placed on a traveling truck with rollers which cause the pipe to revolve on its axis. A cantilever boom is inserted into the pipe, while the rear end of the boom is attached to a support and a spray gun is located at the front end of the boom which is made to rotate against the revolving direction of the pipe. Feeding means for paint are inserted in the boom to the spray gun.
