Abstract: A rotary atomization coating device is provided with a rotary atomizing head including a paint storage and adapted to atomize paint supplied to the paint storage and to discharge the paint onto a work, and a paint supplying nozzle adapted to supply the paint to the paint storage. The rotary atomizing head includes a plurality of bell cups. Each of the bell cups includes, at a front face thereof, a paint discharging face adapted to thin the paint by a centrifugal force. The rotary atomizing head includes a plurality of paint supplying holes corresponding to the respective bell cups. The paint supplying holes are adapted to supply the paint from the paint storage to the respective paint discharging faces. A plurality of grooves extending along a radial direction of the rotary atomizing head are formed at circumferential portions of the respective paint discharging faces.

Abstract: A compact cleaning plant is provided which has great cleaning effect and is self-cleaning. The apparatus according to the invention has a conical stationary part (1) mounted on the inlet pipe for the cleaning liquid, and on which there is suspended a 90.degree. pipe bend (16), the end of which has a hub (11) with nozzles (12) mounted in a rotatable manner in relation to the pipe bend. In this housing, there is contained a turbine (23) which drives a planet gear (15, 27) for turning the pipe bend (16), while at the same time the hub (11) is turned by means of toothed rims (8, 13) enclosed within the housing (1, 16, 11). The housing is also provided with outlet openings (35) and outlet slots (36, 37) for that part of the liquid (39) which serves to lubricate and clean the bearings, said openings and slots being positioned and configured in such a manner that the diverted out-flowing liquid also sweeps all of the housing's external parts. The apparatus is thereby held clean both internally and externally during cleaning, which is of decisive importance where great demands regarding hygiene have to be met, while at the same time it is ensured that all movable parts of the apparatus are kept clean and functionally efficient. Finally, the liquid flows evenly through the apparatus, whereby the loss of pressure is very low.

Abstract: A system for cleaning paint from objects such as spray guns, associated cups and paint cans comprising: an enclosed housing divided into a work chamber and a fluid storage reservoir containing paint solvent and a fluid, having a specific gravity greater than that of the solvent; spray nozzles attached to a first and a second outlet adapted to receive and spray pressurized solvent therefrom; the first outlet includes a tube for receiving and supporting a spray gun and for directing solvent to flow through an inlet of the spray gun; a foraminous layer defines a surface for supporting articles to be cleaned in a preferred orientation relative to the second outlet. The system includes additional spray nozzles for spraying the exterior of the articles being cleaned. In addition, the system includes a bracket for orienting a paint can in a relatively rotational manner relative to a spray nozzle interior to the paint can for enhancing the cleaning thereof. A trigger lock is also provided to maintain the trigger mechanism of the spray gun in an activated condition.

Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning paint guns and related accessories includes a housing defining a washing chamber, a fluid manifold located within the washing chamber having fluid jets attached thereto, a solvent storage tank, an air-flow system and a fluid distribution system for driving the solvent from the storage tank to the manifold for washing the parts mounted on the fluid jets. A timer is provided for control of the washing cycle time and a preset time may be used which is greater than the time required to empty the storage tank thereby providing a drying cycle. In one aspect, the solvent storage tank is provided with a movable barrier dividing the tank into an air chamber and a solvent chamber with the air-flow system coupled to the air chamber so that when pressurized the movable barrier drives the solvent through the fluid distribution system to the manifold. A removable solvent tank is included which is coupled to the solvent chamber by the fluid distribution system. The air-flow system is provided with an air control system which is responsive to the level of the solvent in the solvent storage container and provides for pressurization of the storage container for discharging the solvent, and for sucking solvent from the removable solvent tank to fill the storage container to a predetermined level.

Abstract: A cleaning system for spray equipment, such as paint spray guns and cups, makes use of a stack-up of containers which operate under pressure. Resting on the ground is a tank for cleaning solvent into which air pressure is introduced when needed. Supported above the tank is a spent-fluid collecting receptacle which in turn supports a cleaning cabinet in which a spray gun and cup are suspended for cleaning. All portions of the system are closed during operation except for a vent in the cabinet in which there is a filter for permitting air to escape and which collects and returns dirty solvent to the portion of the cabinet from which it flows through another filter to the collecting receptacle and from there back to the tank. A system of piping has a three way valve capable of directing air above to the cabinet or a mixture of air and cleaning solvent, or shutting off the supply of both air and cleaning solvent.
