A shaft having a first end and a second end fixedly attached to the support frame, the shaft arranged to define a longitudinal axis relative to the support frame. A cylinder, the cylinder having a cylinder bore formed therethrough; and a bearing assembly having an outer circumferemce and an inner bore, the outer circumference sized insertion within the cylinder bore and the inner bore sized to rotatably engage the shaft. The bearing assembling includes an adjustment assembly including a first tapered portion and a second tapered portion, the first and second tapered portions cooperate to permit angular adjustment of the cylinder relative to the longitudinal axis of the shaft, the angular adjustment of the cylinder being about an axis perpendicular to the support shaft longitudinal axis.

    摘要: The invention relates to a web-fed rotary printing press having a plurality of double printing units in which each of the printing units of the double printing units work together in the blanket--blanket method and each has its own drive. Transfer cylinders of each printing unit are driven independently. To permit a rapid change in production, both upon recto and verso printing, the transfer cylinders of the disconnectable double printing units are separable by eccentric bushings or swingable levers such that a web which passes through the printing press is conducted between them without being printed.

    摘要: In order to facilitate removal and replacement of blanket and impression sleeves in a rotary offset printing press, the blanket and plate cylinders are supported in cantilever fashion. The cantilevered cylinders allow axial removal and replacement of the blanket and impression sleeves without temporary support of the cylinder and without removal of any bearings. Each cylinder is rotatably supported on a cantilevered support shaft having a bore therethrough. A drive shaft operatively connected to a drive motor extends through the support shaft bore and engages the inner surface of the generally hollow cylinder. A blanket or impression sleeve mounted on the cylinder is removable using compressed air, which is routed through a bore in the drive shaft and through a plurality of radially oriented passage in a flange on the end of the drive shaft. Each radial passage communicates air to an exit port on the surface of the cylinder, which introduces enough air between the cylinder and the sleeve to permit the sleeve to slide freely for axial removal and replacement.

    摘要: An apparatus for attaching and detaching bearings comprises a stand which is arranged in a position where the bearing for the printing cylinder is attached to and detached from the hole on a frame in a printing press, and which is, also, arranged movably on the side face of the frame of the printing unit. To this stand, there are connected an actuator for extracting the bearing, and a member for extracting the bearing, which engages with the bearing. An apparatus is arranged in a printing press for horizontally holding the printing cylinder which is supported by the other bearing in a cantilever fashion when either one of the bearings supporting the shafts on both sides of the printing cylinder is removed. For this apparatus, a device is arranged for thirsting up the shaft of the printing cylinder, and two bearings are mounted in the bearing on the side where the printing cylinder is held in a cantilever fashion, and then, the interval between these bearings is widened. An apparatus is arranged for providing a connecting shaft penetratingly in the cylinder of the printing cylinder rotatively supported through a pair of eccentric bearings on the left- and right-hand sides between a pair of frames on the left- and right-hand sides of a printing press, and each of the eccentric bearings is connected to the connecting shaft.

    摘要: A printing method and apparatus which use a sleeve-shaped printing form attached to a rotating body. The sleeve-shaped form conveniently permits the printing operation to be performed continuously and on both sides of the print carrier simultaneously. The sleeves preferably exhibit a number of process-specific functional layers. Exemplary layers are: (1) a supporting metal sleeve, (2) an intermediate metal layer for carrying the ink, and (3) a surface metal layer for carrying the water. Copper is an exemplary intermediate layer, and chromium is used as the surface metal layer.

    摘要: A intermediate feed mechanism in a label printing device enables correct registry of a printing plate with successive labels on a strip material backing, and easy adjustment of the intermittent feed in accordance with the label size, in a very simple and inexpensive manner. A drive wheel releasably secured for rotation with a print cylinder is provided, around only a portion of its periphery, with gear teeth for successive driving engagement with gear teeth around the entire periphery of a driven wheel secured for rotation with an impression cylinder, so that the latter is driven only while the gear teeth on the driving wheel are driven into contact with those on the driven wheel. The intermittent drive mechanism may also be employed in a label dispenser.
