摘要: A water craft (10) includes a hull (12) defining two cavities (18). An inflatable chamber (22) is arranged in each cavity (18), for displacing water from hull (12), in use, to increase the buoyancy of the craft (10). As the chamber (22) is inflated, it expands to reduce the free space available for water in the cavity (18), so as to directly expel water from the cavity (18). The chamber (22) can be deflated, in order to flood the cavity and thereby sink the craft (10). The craft (10) is intended to be operated in a normal buoyant mode and in a submarine mode, and includes propeller means (34). The craft may be in the form of a catamaran-type vessel, a jet-ski, or a submersible tank.

For example, a small watercraft is provided with a sponson made of synthetic resin, characterized in that within the sponson there has been fixed a weight matched to the frequency of the hull to thereby have a function as a dynamic damper. In an embodiment, the weight is a plate-shaped weight made of metal along the longitudinal direction of the sponson. In an embodiment, the weight is embedded in the sponson along the longitudinal direction thereof.

摘要: An adjustable sponson for a personal watercraft allows the vertical position and the angular orientation of the sponson to be adjusted to suit the particular size and riding style of each rider. Each adjustable sponson includes a sponson body. At least one locking mechanism releasably attaches the sponson body to the hull side. A guide mechanism allows the sponson body to move vertically relative to an outer chine of the watercraft hull when the locking mechanism is loose. The guide mechanism also permits the ends of the sponson body to move independent of each other so that the angular orientation of the sponson body relative to the chine can be altered. When locked, the locking mechanism prevents movement of the sponson body over the hull side surface.

摘要: A boat hull comprising a bottom panel that makes up the bottom of the boat hull. A first chine member has a base edge and an extended edge. The first chine member is coupled to the bottom panel at the base edge and protrudes generally in a vertical direction away from the boat hull. A curved member couples the extended edge of the first set of chines to a set of side panels. The set of side panels extend from the curved member to the gunwale making up the sides of the boat hull. A second set of chines are located on the set of side panels of the boat hull and extend in a horizontal direction away from the boat hull.

摘要: A stabilizing fin assembly for use with a watercraft includes a mounting structure, a stabilizing fin structure, and a releasable securement structure. The mounting structure is fixedly attached to a side portion of a hull of a watercraft. The stabilizing fin structure is removably mounted to the mounting structure. When the mounting structure is fixedly attached to the hull, the stabilizing fin structure is disposed externally of the hull and adjacent the side portion of the hull in an operative position wherein at least a portion of the stabilizing fin structure extends into a body of water while the watercraft is in a normal operative position. The releasable securement structure is disposed in a releasably secured position on the hull. The stabilizing fin structure facilitates removal and replacement of the stabilizing fin structure without requiring access to the interior of the watercraft.

摘要: A GPS-fitted small watercraft in which one or more GPS antennas are attached to the watercraft in a manner that provides good protection from waves and good signal reception. For a watercraft having a hull member and a deck member joined together at their perimeters, with a gunwale formed at and protruding outwardly from the joined perimeters, the GPS antenna(s) is mounted inwardly from the gunwale on the deck or hull member. Alternatively, the GPS antenna(s) may be mounted to an outside or inside surface of the deck member, on a pad located on a set of handlebars, near a grip of the handlebars, atop or inside a small cargo hatch, on a hatch beneath the handlebars, on a grab bar behind a seat of the watercraft, on a top surface of a bulwark, or on a side wall of the watercraft between the gunwale and a chine of the hull member, either on the inside or outside.

摘要: A personal watercraft includes an improved hull design which reduces drag on the watercraft and inhibits porpoising of the watercraft at high speeds, while providing adequate buoyancy when the watercraft is at rest. The watercraft hull includes a pair of steppers positioned toward the aft end of the watercraft hull. The rear stepper has a greater height than the front stepper. This design reduces the wetted area of the hull when the watercraft is up on plane. The second stepper, however, provides additional surface contact should the watercraft to porpoise in order to stabilize the watercraft. The hull design also includes improved foot steps and adjustable sponsons. The foot steps are sloped upwardly in order to provide greater control of the watercraft when leaning the watercraft in a turn.

The adjustable sponson system includes a pair of actuators which move the sponsons relative to the hull. A remotely positioned operator controls the actuator. The exhaust system for the engine provides a compact assembly that incorporates a pair of expansion chamber devices on opposite sides of the tunnel to provide a water-trap effect, effective silencing, and still clear storage compartments of the hull. The sponsons are configured so as to improve the buoyancy and provide stability upon leaning, and the underplate mounts a speed sensor to the rear of but below the jet propulsion unit discharge so as to provide a good speed signal and to protect the speed sensor.
