Abstract:
An air direction device is submerged under a dry dock. The device imitates the orientation of the dry dock and is in communication with an air source, which pipes air under the device. The air travels to the most elevated portion of the device, which in turn directs the air into a depressed tank to correct dry dock imbalance.
Abstract:
A process and apparatus for internally and externally coating enclosed structures with polymeric materials are provided. In general, the process includes loading a polymeric material into the interior of an enclosed structure. The enclosed structure is then heated and rotated until a polymeric lining is formed within the structure. A second coat of polymeric material may be applied to the exterior surface of the enclosed structure while the enclosed structure is at a temperature sufficient to melt the polymeric material. The enclosed structure can include tanks, drums, barrels, pipes, and the like. In one embodiment, an apparatus having a plurality of arms is used to rotate the enclosed structures between stations corresponding to different steps in the process. The apparatus can include a cooling system for cooling the arms during operation.
Abstract:
A modular jet ski ramp includes a platform configured to float on water and for attachment to a dock. The platform has a receptacle thereon for a replaceable insert, which has a docking surface and an attachment surface. The docking surface is complementary to a hull of a jet ski. The attachment surface is complementary to the receptacle for attachment thereto. The replaceable insert is configured for removal and replacement such that the platform can accommodate the jet ski and another jet ski of a different size.
Abstract:
A portable gas delivery system is provided to provide oxygen or other gaseous mixture for use in emergencies, athletic events, and similar activities. The portable gas delivery system includes a regulator with an accumulator chamber disposed within the regulator and adjacent a mixing chamber. The accumulator chamber receives oxygen or other gas from a replaceable gas source such as a cylinder. The mixing chamber mixes ambient air and gas from the cylinder to form a gaseous mixture which is inhaled by a user. Each use of the portable gas delivery system may be in metered burst of predetermined duration and/or frequency or may be substantially continuous as provided for in the accompanying method.
Abstract:
A buoy for tethering a vessel has a pocket that retains a fastening device below an outer surface of the buoy to protect the vessel from contact by the fastening device. A method of manufacturing the buoy utilizes a processing line that molds elements of the buoy including the pocket.
Abstract:
Improved metallic utility pole accessories used to either support objects on a utility pole or to support and stabilize the pole are provided. In general, the utility pole accessories include a polymeric chemically bonded coating that protects the underlying metal surface from corrosion. The coating also is substantially dielectric for preventing the accessories from interfering with the transmission of electricity through lines supported on the poles. The polymeric coating can be made from polymeric materials having functional monomers grafted thereto for chemically bonding with metal surfaces. Specific accessories within the scope of the present invention include crossbars, anchoring pins, transformer boxes, and guidewire supports. Also included is an improved insulator support post having a threaded portion made from a structural plastic material bonded to the polymeric coating.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for rotationally applying polymers where the apparatus includes a rotational lining unit with a first support section rotatably secured to a main frame for rotation about a first axis, and a second support section secured to the first support section for rotation about a second axis. The second support section includes a portion for holding an enclosed structure to be lined. The unit also includes drive arrangements for driving the first and second support sections so that an enclosed structure can be held by the holding portion and rotated simultaneously about a plurality of axes.

Abstract:
An under dock floatation system includes a float having a shape-fit projection for nesting against a concrete dock to rehabilitate a degraded free board of the dock and/or to increase a weight bearing capacity of the dock.
