    摘要: Elastomeric pads positioned on top of railroad ties have flanges that extend along chamfered corners of railroad ties and shoulders that extend upward and are located along the tops of the flanges. Pre-cast concrete panels that are commonly provided at railway grade crossings between and alongside the rails rest on the pads. The shoulders are compressible by the weight of the concrete panels and help to keep the flanges in place on the chamfered edges of the ties and resist movement of the pads from their intended positions between the concrete panels and the ties. The pads may be extruded of thermoplastic synthetic rubber.

    摘要: In a railroad track comprising a railroad rail having a lower flange and a railroad tie made from concrete, a polyurethane pad is mounted between the lower flange of the rail road rail and an upper surface of the railroad tie. A bonding layer at least as flexible as the polyurethane pad is bonded to a lower surface of the polyurethane pad. An adhesive layer is bonded to the upper surface of the railroad tie. The bonding and adhesive layers are bonded to each other, whereby the polyurethane pad and the railroad tie are bonded to each other via the bonding and adhesive layers. Preferably, the adhesive layer comprises a methacrylate ester composition, and the bonding layer comprises either a product of polymerizing a solution of methyl methacrylate copolymer in n-butyl acrylate monomer with an addition of cumene hydroperoxide to the solution or a product of curing or drying a water-based acrylic emulsion. Alternatively, the bonding layer is a product of polymerizing a solution of a thermoplastic elastomer in methyl methacrylate monomer. The solution may have an addition of 1% (by volume) of cumene hydroperoxide to catalyze polymerization. The solution may have a sprayed coat of a dispersion of benzoyl peroxide in a plasticizer or in water to catalyze polymerization.

    摘要: In a railroad track, a composite pad is useful between a lower flange of a railroad rail and an upper surface of a railroad tie, particularly but not exclusively a concrete tie. The composite pad comprises a bonding member, preferably a plate made from galvanized, powder-coated steel and a polyurethane pad. Such a plate, if used, may be powder-coated with a composition comprising a polyester, acrylic, or epoxy resin. The pad is cast onto the member so that the member is bonded directly to the pad. An adhesive layer comprising a methacrylate ester composition bonds the member to the upper surface of the tie, at the lower surface of the member, so as to resist relative movement between the member and the tie and so as to retard infiltration of sand, water, or debris therebetween.

    摘要: A fluid impervious polymeric membrane separating a resilient pad from a railroad crosstie and having a width substantially greater than the resilient pad to resist moisture and mechanical forces in penetration between the concrete tie and the pad. The width is also sufficient to resist moisture penetration between the peripheral edges of the pad and the membrane. The width of the membrane is sufficient to extend essentially to the edge of the shoulder to limit lateral movement of the membrane caused by forces exerted by passing trains. Also, the membrane is substantially wider than the pad to extend essentially to the shoulder and insulator to resist lateral movement. Further, the pad is notched at a mid region adjacent to the insulator and clamp, with wider in regions, the notch resisting longitudinal movement of the membrane. The plastic material is selected from a group consisting of high density polyethylene, high molecular weight high density polyethylene and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene.

    摘要: An elastic rail bearing for railroad rails includes a top plate, a bottom plate, and a rubber plate disposed inbetween the top and bottom plates, the plates each having a plurality of holes formed therethrough with the holes of one plate being in registered alignment with the holes of the other plates. One or more bolts are provided, each of which is surrounded by a rubber ring with each of the bolts passing through one of the aligned set of holes in the top, bottom and rubber plates and engaging a nut such that an adjustable and variable initial stress may be established in the rail. At least one of the rubber plates, and the top and bottom plates, have a protrusion and the other has a corresponding recess for receiving the protrusion. The top and bottom plates each have a vertical flange which are spaced apart from, extend parallel to, and partially overlap each other. A connecting rubber strip is disposed inbetween the flanges.

    摘要: A laterally adjustable rail clip fastening means is provided by the present invention for securing a resilient rail clip such as a Pandrol clip to a direct fixation rail mounting assembly, and, in turn, into engagement with a rail. The rail clip fastening means includes a pair of sections formed of rigid material having a curved section at one end to receive and securely hold a resilient rail clip in engagement with a rail.
