The present invention is an anchoring device for joining three boards. It includes a substantially flat horizontal top element having a top view configuration which includes two sides and has a first predetermined width as measured wide to side at its maximum width between the two sides. There is at least one substantially vertical support member attached to the underside of the top element along an imaginary center line and extending downwardly from the top element for a predetermined length, which has two sides and a second predetermined width as measured at its maximum width. There is a substantially flat horizontal bottom element with two sides and has a third predetermined width at its maximum width. The first predetermined width is greater than the second predetermined width and the third predetermined width, and the third is greater than the second.

A four sided tile, particularly for paving, flooring or cladding includes a first side edge, a second slide edge parallel with shorter than the first side edge, and third and fourth side edges which are not parallel. The length of the shorter side edges is the same and the sum of their length is equal to the length of the larger side. The side edges are preferable curved with radii of equal length.
Abstract:
A hardwood floor system has upper and lower subfloors of wooden panels, a plurality of elongated floorboards disposed above the upper subfloor and a plurality of uniformly spaced compressible, deflectable pads supporting the lower subfloor above a base, with at least one kerfed surface in the group of surfaces including the floorboard bottom surface, the upper subfloor surfaces, and the lower subfloor surfaces. In a free-floating embodiment of the invention, each of the pads includes a glide tip that is slidable with respect to the base. This combination of kerfs and compressible, deflectable pads provides a hardwood floor system that substantially complies with the performance characteristics established by the Otto Graf Institut of West Germany for evaluating hardwood floor systems, but in a more economical manner than another embodiment of the invention described in the parent application.
Abstract:
A unitized floor panel is formed having at least one row comprising a plurality of unattached wooden tiles assembled in generally abutting relation. A layer of pressure sensitive adhesive covers at least a portion of the upper surface of the tiles and is in turn covered by a flexible and removeable support and protective sheet which covers the adhesive and tiles. The adhesive bond formed between the sheet and the adhesive is stronger than the bond formed between the adhesive and the tile so that the sheet and adhesive can be easily stripped from each panel when desired. The wooden tiles can either be finished or unfinished and can be formed from acrylic wood tiles arranged in parquet fashion. The cover sheet is preferably formed from either transparent plastic film or paper having a printed design corresponding to the design and arrangement of the tiles onto which it is positioned. The sheet can include perforations to control cure rate of the sub-flooring adhesive onto which the panels are placed. A method of laying these panels includes preparing the sub-floor onto which the panels are to be placed, spreading adhesive between the panels and the sub-floor, placing the panels onto the sub-floor and applying pressure onto the panels so that they generally conform to the sub-floor before self-levelling occurs. After the panels are placed and pressed onto the sub-floor the adhesive layers and flexible sheet may be stripped away from the upper surface of the panels thereafter without using water or other preparations when desired.
Abstract:
A resiliently cushioned adhesive applied restricted growth bridging wood flooring system is provided. The wood floor members are held in place by spaced ridges of elastomeric cushioning adhesive material between the wood flooring members and the supporting base. The elastomeric cushioning adhesive material has sufficient gripping and tensile strength to overcome normal horizontal and vertical expansive buckling forces which can be generated by an increased moisture content within the wood flooring members during periods of normal atmospheric moisture changes. The elastomeric cushioning adhesive material also provides substantial resilient cushioned support under the wood flooring members, absorbs impact sounds between floors of multistory buildings, and provides a substantially level floor even though the supporting base may be non-planar.

A parquet floor element is disclosed which comprises a facing layer defined by edges forming a closed contour, a backing panel of indented peripheral shape, and means for fixing the facing layer to the backing panel, the latter being associated with the facing layer in such a manner that the said teeth partly project relative to the edges of the facing layer, the intervals between the teeth in part receding relative to the said edges with a regular sequence, along the whole of the contour of the facing layer, of teeth projecting relative to the said edges and intervals between the teeth receding relative to the said edges.
Abstract:
An insulation system for coupling to a building substrate comprising a plurality of insulation panels, bracket members and splice members. Each insulation panel includes a longitudinal slot. Each bracket member is formed from a polymer and includes an elongated body having a body wall, a first end wall and a second end wall. Upper and lower ribs extend from the body wall and are structurally configured to extend into the longitudinal slot of each of the plurality of insulation panels, and to elastically deform the longitudinal slot so as to effectively seal along a length thereof, defining a vapor barrier. A similar structure is on each splice member. The bracket members are positioned in a spaced apart relationship with insulation panels therebetween. The upper and lower ribs extend into corresponding ones of the longitudinal slots of the insulation panels, with splice members extending between adjacent adjacently abutting insulation panels.
Abstract:
A kit for assembling walls and ceilings is provided. The kit comprises at least two gypsum boards, each with at least one tapered edge, and a self-drying joint compound comprising a polymeric binder and hollow spheres. Methods for wall and ceiling installation are provided as well.
