Abstract:
The invention relates to a hinge comprising a moveable hinge section and a hinge section consisting of a fixed stop section, which are interconnected by at least one joint axis, and comprising a damping device mounted on one of the hinge sections whose translationally or rotatably moveable damping member is acted upon at least in the closure region of the hinge via gear means from the other hinge section. According to the invention for adjustment of the moveable damping member depending on the tilt of the moveable hinge section relative to the at least one joint axis, there is provided at least three moveable gear members are provided, of which one is the damping member itself.
Abstract:
A hinge device includes a frame bracket adapted to be secured to a door frame, a door bracket adapted to be secured to a door panel, first and second links pivoted to the frame bracket and the door bracket, an urging member for urging the door panel to move from an opened position toward a closed position relative to the door frame, and a damping member adapted to be secured to the door frame and connected movably to the second link through a transmission link so as to damp pivoting movement of the door panel relative to the door frame.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for damping the movement of movable furniture parts to their closed position. The invention provides for a housing which can be fastened to a fixed wall part or carcass part, in which housing a lever is pivotably held or a plunger is slidably guided, with said lever or plunger being pivoted or slid to its closing region by the movable furniture part, thus by way of at least two-stage gear means with a speed increasing ratio impinging on a rotation damper or on the piston of a damping cylinder.
Abstract:
A door is moved in an opening direction at a first speed until the door reaches a decelerating area. A moving speed of the door in the opening direction is decelerated from the first speed to a second speed being lower than the first speed while the door has been moved in the decelerating area. The movement of the door is stopped when the door is moved beyond the decelerating area, the door comes in contact with an obstacle, and the moving speed of the door becomes lower than a predetermined speed corresponding to an open position of the door by a predetermined threshold value.
Abstract:
A door hinge is disclosed including a door mounting bracket and a body mounting bracket interconnected by an intermediate member pivotably attached to each bracket. A locking arrangement including a pivotable locking arm on the intermediate member simultaneously locks and unlocks the intermediate member with the respective mounting bracket at the closed and an intermediate open position of the door providing for sequential, reversible pivotable movement of the intermediate member and door bracket as a unit about the pivot point on the body bracket between the closed and intermediate open position and independent reversible pivotable movement of the door mounting bracket between the intermediate open position and fully open position of the door.
Abstract:
A vehicle including a door (16) and door frame (14). A hinge mechanism connects the door (16) to the door frame (14), the hinge mechanism including a bracket member (22) having first and second ends (24, 26) and a first support bracket (28) for supporting the first end (24) from a door frame (14) by a pin member (30) and a second support bracket (32) for supporting the second end (26) from a door (16) by a second pin member (34). The invention is characterized by including a hinge latching mechanism (48) for releasably latching one of the first and second ends (24, 26) of the bracket member (22) from pivoting movement relative to the respective one of the first and second support brackets (28, 32).
Abstract:
A safety cabinet for the storage of flammable or combustible materials that has doors and a closure mechanism designed to automatically close and latch the doors in the event of fire. The closing mechanism is fully automatic and eliminates mechanical timing features as well as provides an automatic positive method and structure of closing the doors of the cabinet to insure a complete seal and lock.
Abstract:
A device for indicating the failure of one of the cables in a redundant cable system for assisting the movement of a closure which includes means for so connecting each of the cables to a counterweight suspended therefrom that the counterweight is maintained at a first distance from the closure when both cables are intact and the counterweight so moves to a second distance from the closure when one of the two cables fails that the counterweight can move into a position for inhibiting the raising of the closure, thereby indicating the failure of one of the cables. The second distance is greater than the first distance. The connecting means is a pivoting member having two arms, each being adapted for sliding attachment to one of the cables.
Abstract:
A furniture hinge for two housing parts has a housing mounted on one furniture part, a hinge arm mounted on the other furniture part, two pivotable hinge plates pivotally connecting the housing with the hinge arm, a spring which forms a locking device, a cylinder-and-piston unit having a piston pivotally mounted on the hinge arm and a brake cylinder slidably movable relative to the piston under the action of a cam lever mounted on one of the hinge plates and arranged to move the brake cylinder relative to the piston, wherein the sliding surface of the brake cylinder and/or the piston has a friction-increasing coating.
