Abstract:
A corner bracket assembly for use in an associated movable frame assembly is provided. The corner bracket assembly includes a first housing piece having upstanding coupling pins. A second housing piece has receiving pockets for connecting engagement with the coupling pins and defining a cavity therebetween. A roller assembly is received within the cavity. The roller assembly includes a roller housing, a threaded engaging portion defined in the roller housing, and a roller rotatably mounted within the roller housing. A threaded fastener is rotatably mounted between the first and second housing pieces and is in threaded engagement with the roller assembly. A track is defined between the first and second housing pieces and the roller assembly for linearly adjusting a position of the roller assembly in relation to the first and second housing pieces.
Abstract:
A hanger bar assembly for sliding doors used in transit cars has at least two separate coaxially oriented, preferably tubular bearing segments which can slidingly engage a cylindrical rod secured above an entry portal of a transit car. Each bearing segment contains bearing means such as a ball bushing bearing. The tubular bearing segments can be secured to a hanger bar at selected locations, taking into consideration such factors as the location of door hanger support points above an entry portal of the transit car, the location where the sliding door interfaces with an adjacent sliding door, the horizontal width of the door, and the distance that the door must travel along the cylindrical rod. Each of the bearing segments can be sealed at either end to reduce the likelihood of dirt and other contaminants entering the bearing segments.
Abstract:
A privacy screen assembly for work spaces of the type having spaced-apart partition panels forming an opening for user ingress and egress therethrough. The privacy screen assembly includes a privacy screen defining a lower edge, and at least one roller mounted adjacent the lower edge for movably supporting the privacy screen on a trackless floor surface. An attachment member is configured to movably interconnect the privacy screen with a first partition panel. The attachment member positions the privacy screen in an offset position relative to the first partition panel. The privacy screen is movable between an open position wherein the privacy screen is disposed alongside at least a portion of the first partition panel, and a closed position wherein the privacy screen closes off at least a substantial portion of the opening.
Abstract:
A door support and drive mechanism for a door can be mounted either over or in a door opening in a transit vehicle or other structure. The mechanism includes a tube which has a longitudinal slot. The mechanism also has mounts attached to the tube for mounting the mechanism to the structure over the door opening, so that the tube is substantially horizontal and the slot is along a lower portion of the tube. The mechanism includes at least one door hanger which has an upper portion movably disposed within the tube and a depending portion passing through the slot, the depending portion being for attachment to the door. The mechanism has a drive nut attached to the door hanger. A drive screw is positioned in the tube, engaging a threaded inner portion of the drive nut. The drive screw is connectable to a rotary power device to be rotated thereby. Rotation of the drive screw causes longitudinal movement of the drive nut and the hanger to which the drive nut is attached, so that the door is moved longitudinally.
Abstract:
A one-leaf or two-leaf sliding door, swinging/sliding door or pocket door, particularly for vehicles, has an electric, pneumatic or hydraulic drive. A nut is attached to the at least one door leaf and a spindle extends through the nut. A drive for moving the at least one door leaf is provided either to rotate the spindle directly or to linearly move the at least one door leaf. A freewheel is mounted on an end of the spindle, wherein the freewheel has a component which is stationary relative to but capable of rotating together with the spindle. A releasable brake or clutch is provided for preventing rotation of the freewheel component.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an electro-mechanical door opening and closing device which is adapted to be retro-fitted onto an existing manually operated sliding door system. The sliding door system has a stationary panel and a movable panel and the system is installed in a wall of a building. A stationary portion includes the stationary panel, the door frame and the building adjacent to the door frame. The device includes a reversible motor, a bracket or handle and a control system. The reversible motor is attachable to one of the stationary portion and the movable panel. The bracket is attachable to the other of the stationary portion and the movable panel. The device includes a threaded rod operably connected to the reversible motor such that the rod may be rotated clockwise and counterclockwise. The rod is also movably connected to the bracket and rotation of the rod clockwise and counterclockwise causes the bracket to move towards and away from the motor thereby opening and closing the sliding panel. Combined the rod and bracket is similar to a power screw. The control system is operably connected to the reversible motor to control activation, direction and deactivation of the motor. Preferably the bracket includes a disengagable coupling mechanism with an engaged position, wherein the slidable panel is moved by the method of moving, and a release position, wherein the slidable panel is moved manually.
Abstract:
A programmable automatic window including a hollow frame with an aperture disposed therethrough; a window slidably secured within the aperture of the frame; a ball screw mechanism disposed within the frame and coupled to the window; a motor coupled to the ball screw mechanism and energizable with a positive polarity to cause rotation of the ball screw mechanism for allowing the window to be raised and energizable with a negative polarity to cause opposite rotation of the ball screw mechanism for allowing the window to be lowered; and motor logic switch circuitry for controlling the motor.
Abstract:
A door operator for garage doors is provided which includes a motor, a multiple segmented drive screw and a traveler coupled to and reciprocating along the multiple segmented drive screw. The drive screw segments have non-circular ends which are slidably coupled to each other through a complementary sleeve. Springs are used to bias the screw segments toward one another. The traveler includes a lubricating pad for lubricating the drive screw as it passes along.
Abstract:
A ball screw that, together with contributing to reduction of the cost of the device wherein it is incorporated as a feed mechanism, eliminates the need for adjustment work performed to maintain the operation state of the object being operated, for example, an automatic door. The thread pitch of a threaded portion of a screw shaft is varied from one end to the other.
Abstract:
A sliding door roller apparatus includes a replaceable wheel assembly that can be easily removed and replaced on a holding member. The wheel assembly includes a resilient housing, a wheel, and an axle on which the wheel turns. The resilient housing has a pair of opposite facing sidewalls, each having an integral end portion that extends toward and overlaps the other. Each end portion includes at least one locking finger that is positionable within an opening on the holding member. The resiliency of the housing permits the locking fingers to be placed or removed from an opening located on the holding member. The apparatus also includes an adjustment mechanism that positions the wheel assembly outside the sliding door frame to permit the frame to be properly aligned within its door opening.
