    Abstract: A one-way speed limiter includes a first housing including an inner surface. defining a speed limiter receiving zone. A second housing includes a flange and a second wall including an inner surface portion that includes a stop feature. A ball housing including a ball member is rotatably supported in the speed limiter receiving zone. The ball member selectively engages the stop feature. A friction clutch is disposed between the ball housing and the first housing. The friction clutch selectively retards rotation of the ball housing. A motor shaft is selectively rotatably connected to the ball housing. The motor shaft including a first end supported at the ball housing and a second end. The motor shaft is rotatable relative to the ball housing in a first direction and selectively rotatably constrained relative to the ball housing in a second direction to selectively engage the friction clutch.

    Abstract: A clutch mechanism comprising: a first connection for coupling the clutch mechanism to a motor shaft; a second connection for coupling the clutch mechanism to a driven element; a ratchet having a plurality of notches; a pawl body having pivotally mounted thereon a plurality of pawls; each of the plurality of pawls having a respective lobe for engaging with a respective one of the plurality of notches; and one or more resilient elements for biasing the plurality of pawls into engagement with the plurality of notches; wherein a first set of the plurality of pawls inhibits decoupling of the pawl body from the ratchet in a first rotation direction and a second set of the plurality of pawls inhibits decoupling of the pawl body from the ratchet in a second rotation direction, such that the second rotation direction is opposite to the first rotation direction.

    Abstract: An automotive door system includes a hinge supporting a door. A door check module interconnects to one of the vehicle and the door by a linkage assembly. An output shaft is connected to the linkage assembly and rotates relative to a door check module housing. The output shaft provides an output torque to check the door in a desired door position. A sensor detects rotation of the shaft and produces a signal in response thereto. A brake assembly includes a shaft member operatively connected to the output shaft. The brake assembly has a normally closed position in which the shaft member is grounded to the housing in a door check mode. The brake assembly includes an open position that corresponds to one of a door closing mode and a door opening mode. The brake assembly moves from the normally closed position to the open position in response to the signal.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a drive arrangement for an adjusting element of a motor vehicle, a clutch arrangement which is connected into the drive train with a drive connection and a driven connection, the clutch arrangement at any rate forwarding a movement which is introduced on the drive side to the driven connection and having a braking arrangement for braking a movement which is introduced on the output side. The braking arrangement has a braking element which can be adjusted counter to a braking force, in that, between the output connection and the braking element, the clutch arrangement has a freewheel arrangement comprising at least one freewheel pair of clamping body freewheels which operate in opposite directions, in that a movement which is introduced on the output side always brings about the blocking of at least one clamping body freewheel and is correspondingly braked via the braking arrangement.
