Abstract:
Disclosed are Variable Displacement Power Controllers and applications generally in the field of fluid powered systems that provide for increased efficiency and effectiveness over known fluid systems, where fluid power generally refers to hydraulic or pneumatic power systems.
Abstract:
A compressed gas motor. The motor has a port and a hollow cylinder delimited by a wall with a ventilation opening, a rear closure, and a plunger axially movable in the cylinder. The plunger divides the cylinder into front and back chambers. The ventilation opening is periodically opened towards the back chamber during operation of the motor by movement of the plunger. A compression spring in the front chamber urges the plunger towards the rear closure and/or a tension spring in the back chamber draws the plunger towards the rear closure so that the back chamber is closed relative to the ventilation opening by the plunger and the back chamber is connected with the port when the same pressure prevails in the front and back chambers. The motor can be used in surgical drive systems, medical lavage systems and medical devices. Also disclosed is a method for operating the motor.
Abstract:
A device includes a pneumatic actuating cylinder and a brake element. The actuating cylinder has at least one pneumatic piston that can be actuated in an arbitrary manner and that is connected to the pneumatic piston or to a component that can be moved by pneumatic piston. Movement of pneumatic piston can be braked or suppressed by an actuation of the brake element.
Abstract:
A mine door installation has a frame installed in a mine passageway. At least one door leaf is mounted on the frame for swinging movement between open and closed positions. Movement of the door leaf is powered by a pneumatic actuator. The door installation also has a hydraulic checking system for controlling the speed of the door leaf as it moves back and forth between open and closed positions. A pneumatically-powered control system may be provided to control the door installation. The pneumatic control system may comprise a calibrated vent to shorten the delay in the response of the door leaf to direction from the control system to stop moving. The pneumatic control system may also comprise a limit valve to prevent the door installation from opening when a second door installation is open, thereby preventing both door installations in an air lock from being open at the same time.
