Abstract:
A device configured to provide a first visual indicator portion defined by at least part of a display and a second visual indicator portion defined by a plurality of light sources disposed in a bezel. The first visual indicator portion and the second visual indicator portion being in close physical proximity and cooperatively forming a dual-media visual indicator. The device configured to execute instructions in a storage unit to issue a first control command for the first visual indicator portion, and a second control command for the second visual indicator portion, thereby controlling the first visual indicator portion and the second visual indicator portion to generate a visual effect of the dual-media visual indicator.
Abstract:
A touch-sensitive and far-field or proximity sensitive touchpad combined with a display, wherein the touchpad is formed as a touchstrip that is concealed inside the display, wherein a first function or interface such as a menu is enabled when an actuating device reaches a threshold distance from the touchpad, wherein a second function or interface is enabled when the actuating device makes contact with the touchpad, and wherein the first function may or may not continue after contact is made with the touchpad.
Abstract:
A touch device includes: a touch input module including a selection unit configured such that a selection is made therein and a sensing unit provided to generate a predetermined signal corresponding to the selection; a memory unit for storing data; and a control unit for processing the signal; wherein data execution is performed in the touch input module which is provided such that the selection of different sensing regions of the sensing unit, including indication locations respectively spaced apart at a predetermined distance, by a selection means is made within a range corresponding to a fingerprint region of one thumb. Accordingly, the present invention has the advantage of easily and quickly performing data execution in which one or more of data input and data control are performed through an intuitive selection of at least one indication location or sensing region by a single finger.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a glass type terminal capable of supporting gestures using one finger or two fingers by providing a three-dimensional input device at a temple hinged to a rim of a lens, and an input method thereof. For three-dimensional touch inputs, the temple is configured to have an upper surface, a lower surface, an inner side surface and an outer side surface provided touch sensor, respectively. Upon sensing of a touch input applied onto said one or more surfaces of the temple using one finger or two fingers, a screen displayed on a lens is controlled in correspondence to the sensed touch input. Under such configuration, a user can control the screen in a more convenient manner.
Abstract:
An information handling system includes a tablet computer, which in turn includes a touch sensor, a sensor detector, and a processor. The sensor detector is configured to communicate with the touch sensor, and to detect a first fingerprint on the touch sensor. The processor is configured to communicate with the sensor detector, to determine that the first fingerprint is within a first zone of the touch sensor, to match the first fingerprint to a stored fingerprint for the first zone of the touch sensor, to determine a first input function associated with the first fingerprint based on the first fingerprint matching the stored fingerprint for the first zone, and to execute the first input function.
Abstract:
An operating device includes a main body portion having a first touch operating surface and a second touch operating surface which is provided at an angle with respect to the first touch operating surface, a first sensor detecting an operation on the first touch operating surface, a second sensor detecting an operation on the second touch operating surface, and a processing device realizing a first function when the operation on the first touch operating surface is detected and realizing a second function different from the first function when the operation on the second touch operating surface is detected.
Abstract:
A keyboard for a handheld device comprises a plurality of side-keys and a main keyboard. The side-keys are configured at one side(s) and/or back of the device and used for changing layout of the main keyboard and operated by one hand holding the device. The main keyboard is used for inputting characters/commands and operated by another hand. Some or all of the side-keys can also be re-used as mouse buttons together with a touch screen of the device being re-used as a touch pad for a mouse. Some or all of the side-keys are operated by means of releasing a finger holding a side-key first and then using the finger to press down or touch the side-key to hold it again. This method operating a side-key can also be used for other key/buttons such as mouse buttons of a touch mouse, a touch-pad mouse, etc. The main keyboard can further comprise a physical keyboard and a mapping keyboard configured on a touch screen of the device to realize much more keys by means of simultaneously pressing down and releasing two or more keys of the physical keyboard. A current layout of the physical keyboard is mapped to the mapping keyboard.
Abstract:
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a sensor module configured to sense a pressure applied to the electronic device and to send a pressure value corresponding to the sensed pressure to a processor and the processor configured to perform an operation corresponding to the pressure value received from the sensor module, wherein if the sensed pressure belongs to a first interval, the sensor module sends a first pressure value, which represents the first interval, to the processor, wherein if the sensed pressure belongs to a second interval higher than the first interval, the sensor module sends a second pressure value corresponding to the sensed pressure to the processor, and wherein if the sensed pressure belongs to a third interval higher than the second interval, the sensor module sends a third pressure value, which represents the third interval, to the processor.
Abstract:
In an end portion of a case of a portable terminal, an operation that uses a movement of an operation object perpendicular to the case is possible. A portable terminal (1) includes a movement direction determination unit (52a) that determines a direction in which an operation object is moved along a direction which includes one edge of a case of an input device and which is approximately perpendicular to one surface of the case including the edge, in the vicinity of an end portion and a side surface of the case of the input device, based on a change in a pattern of a detection signal over time indicating that the operation object is detected.
Abstract:
