    摘要: An elastic waveguide, for propagating acoustic waves, consists of an elongated solid core region and an elongated solid outer cladding region. The acoustic waves propagate in a mode where the principle particle displacement is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the waveguide, this mode is called longitudinal mode. The material densities and the bulk shear wave velocities of the core and cladding region are substantially the same but the bulk longitudinal wave velocity of the cladding region is larger than that of the core region.

    摘要: A variable delay device for delaying an electrical signal includes a bar-shaped magnetostrictive member to be a transmitting path of a supersonic wave, an input transducer for converting an electric signal into a supersonic wave and an output transducer for converting a supersonic wave into an electric signal, the input and output transducers being provided at at opposite end portions of the magnetostrictive member, and a magnetic field producing device provided between the input and output transducers for supplying the magnetostrictive member with a magnetic field which varies in intensity along the elongated direction of the magnetostrictive member. The magnetic field supplied to the magnetostrictive member is controlled by a control signal applied to the magnetic field producing device to vary the Young's modulus of the magnetostrictive member. As a result, the velocity of the supersonic wave being transmitted therein is varied, to thereby control the delay time of the electric signal.

    摘要: An input transducer for surface wave filters having an asymmetrical transfer function comprises two pairs (5 and 6) of interdigital combs disposed side by side on the same piezoelectric substrate staggered by one quarter of the acoustic wavelength, one having a symmetrical transfer function and the other an anti-symmetrical transfer function. The asymmetrical transfer function filter is obtained by summing the two acoustic waves generated by such an input transducer in a wide band output transducer.

The creation of the ground zones involves the use of a jet of sand directed on to the large faces of the substrate.

    摘要: A predetermined delay is provided for a microwave input signal by a delay line having a frequency divider circuit including a negative resistance semiconductor device responsive to the microwave input signal and a D.C. bias voltage. The frequency divider circuit converts the input signal at frequency f.sub.1, to a signal at a frequency, f.sub.2, within the operating range of an acoustic delay device coupled to the frequency divider circuit. A frequency multiplier circuit coupled to the acoustic delay device multiplies the frequency, f.sub.2, of the delayed signal from the acoustic device to the frequency, f.sub.1, of the input signal.

    摘要: A device for processing electromagnetic wave energy by converting the wave energy to spin waves and/or elastic waves, the present disclosure being particularly directed to the concept of providing a device made up of a single-crystal material which contains non-uniform material parameters to give graded values of material saturation 4 pi Ms. The material discussed in greatest detail is YIG and the non-uniform material parameters are furnished by doping the YIG with gallium. The graded material parameters in combination with an external magnetic bias field H result in an internal magnetic bias field H. The electromagnetic energy as it enters the material is acted upon in a manner that is influenced greatly by the contour of H. The contour of H in the present disclosure, in turn, is predetermined to present gradations in H which will allow the conversion mentioned and which allow predetermination of the wavenumber k of the magnons and/or phonons thereby formed. Furthermore, the place or space within the crystal at which conversion occurs can be somewhat determined by the profile of H thereby provided.
