    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of recording still pictures onto a recording medium. The present method records still pictures onto a recording medium in a DCF (Design rule for Camera File system) structure defined for a digital still camera or in a file structure defined for a digital video recorder, creates management information to access the recorded still pictures, and writes the management information in management information fields specified in a digital video recorder. Referring to the management information, a desired still picture or desired still pictures can be found easily and rapidly among numerous still pictures recorded on a recording medium.

    Abstract: A printing system that transfers an image composed of pixels of a first resolution, includes a client and a printing apparatus. The client includes a determining unit that, for a pixel block that is of a size of a pixel of a second resolution that is lower than the first resolution, determines whether or not the pixel block is homogenous on the basis of a difference in color information for a target pixel of the first resolution included in the pixel block; an image-data-for-transfer creating unit that creates image data for transfer by changing pixels of the first resolution included in a pixel block that has been determined to be homogenous from the first resolution to the second resolution; and a transmitting unit that transmits the image data for transfer. The printing apparatus includes a receiving unit that receives the image data for transfer and a high-resolution-image-data creating unit that creates image data representing an image composed of pixels of the first resolution by changing pixels of the second resolution in the image data for transfer from the second resolution to the first resolution.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus and an image processing system which facilitate management against unauthorized use by creating a job log according to a usage status of a user. A creation section creates a different job log for each individual user. The job log has storage conditions of image data included in the job log set according to a storage level. The storage conditions are a color of an image, a resolution of the image data and whether or not necessary to create OCR data of the image data. To increase efficiency of a follow-up research by using such a job log, the storage level of the image data relating to the user having performed unauthorized use is raised.
