    摘要: The articulated wireline hole finder is a modular device which attaches to the bottom of a wireline logging tool-string to aid conveyance down irregular shaped and/or deviated boreholes which possess features such as ledges, washouts, and contractions, that might otherwise terminate full descent of the tool-string to the bottom of the borehole and thereby compromise the wireline data acquisition objectives. Elements of the articulated wireline hole finder may include a low friction roller nose assembly and spacer sub, an articulated spring joint, that transfers tool-string weight and directs lateral movement of the roller nose towards hole center, and a pair of five arm centralizers that possess a wide dynamic range.

    摘要: Embodiments provide an expandable meshed component for guiding an untethered measurement device used in a subterranean well. The expandable meshed component includes an uphole radial portion, an intermediate radial portion, a downhole radial portion, an outer meshed wall, and an inner meshed wall. The expandable meshed component has a density less than a fluidic component occupying the space. A method for guiding an untethered measurement device used in a subterranean well includes deploying a compressed expandable meshed component tethered to the untethered measurement device, disconnecting the compressed expandable meshed component and the untethered measurement device, and releasing a sleeve surrounding the compressed expandable meshed component such that the expandable meshed component expands, ascends, and fits into an annulus.

    摘要: A current booster includes a buck-type converter including an input node, an output node, an inductor connected in series between the input and output nodes, a first capacitor connecting between the output node and ground, a second capacitor connecting between the input node and ground, a first switch connected in series between the input node and the inductor, and a second switch connecting a node between the first switch and the inductor to ground. A controller is operatively connected to control switching of the first and second switches. The controller includes logic configured to drive switching of the first and second switches in a first mode to maintain voltage at the output node if current at the input node is below a set point, and in a second mode to maintain constant current at the input node if current at the input node reaches the set point.

    摘要: A downhole tractor has at least one hydraulic drive section, comprising a first hydraulic supply line for actuating at least one hydraulic cylinder for actuating at least one tractor arm and a second hydraulic supply line for driving at least one hydraulic motor for rotating at least one tractor wheel. The downhole tractor further comprises a hydraulic power pack configured for supplying hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic supply lines. The hydraulic power pack comprises a pressure-setting valve provided in between the first hydraulic supply line and the second hydraulic supply line, wherein the pressure-setting valve is configured for feeding excess hydraulic fluid in the first hydraulic supply line to the second hydraulic supply line to increase the speed of the downhole tractor.

    摘要: A method for controlling a pump-down operation in a wellbore includes selecting a target value for downhole tension of a support cable and a recommended job speed to convey a wireline tool string down a section of the wellbore, generating a line speed signal for controlling a line speed of the support cable and a pumprate signal to control a pumprate of a hydraulic fluid in the wellbore, determining a first error between the target value for downhole tension and a measured value of the downhole tension, determining a second error between the recommended job speed and an actual line speed, and maintaining the target value for the downhole tension by simultaneously controlling the line speed and the pumprate using a value for the line speed signal and a value for the pumprate signal generated based on the first and second errors.
