摘要: A color negative photographic element is disclosed that is constructed for development in less than 2 minutes. Increased red and green speeds are realized by employing the following layer unit coating sequence, starting with the support: slower red, slower green, slower blue, faster red, faster green and faster blue. Total hydrophilic colloid in the layer units, interlayers and protective layer unit is limited to less than 15 g/m.sup.2 to facilitate more rapid development.

摘要: A method for producing a film or sheet of a cellulose ester such as cellulose triacetate (TAC), cellulose diacetate, or the like, in which a film-forming solution is extruded through the slot of an extrusion die onto a support while a liquid is dropped at opposite ends of the die onto the flow of the film-forming solution emerging from the slot, thereby to prevent slugging of the solution, wherein a solvent contained in the dropping liquid contains a poor solvent for a solute in the film-forming solution in an amount in a range of from 30% to 90% by weight relative to a good solvent for the solute contained in the dropping liquid. With the invention, slugging is prevented and production efficiency improved without adversely affecting the formed film, without problems in separating the film from the support due to insufficient drying, and without requiring periodic cleaning of the support or reduction of the film production rate.

摘要: A transparentized paper with a caliper of between 0.001 and 0.015 inch and the process for its preparation is disclosed. A paper web is treated with a liquid mixture of polyesters, acid monoesters of polyols and dicarboxylic acids in non aqueous polaric solvents having admixed therein methylol derivatives of polyamino compounds, with or without a catalyst. The impregnated paper is cured by an in-situ cross-linking reaction immobilizing the impregnated material. A transparentized paper results which is resistant to water, most organic solvents and heat and is useful as tracing material as well as a translucent base for sensitizing with reprographic coatings. The transparentized paper is not resistant to alkali and can be repulped in alkaline medium for recycling. The transparentized paper also exhibits antistatic properties.

摘要: There is disclosed a method of producing diazotype photoprinting material in which a base paper is withdrawn from a supply roll and transported through a precoating station in which a solution containing a silicon filler is applied to one side of the base paper; the paper is then transported from the precoating station past a plurality of heaters to a sensitizing station in which a solution containing a diazotype sensitizing compound is applied to one side of the base paper; the base paper is then transported past a second set of heaters to a transparentizing station in which a solution containing a water emulsion of a water clear synthetic organic resin is applied to the other side of the base paper simultaneously to render the base paper translucent and to decurl the paper; the paper is then transported past a third set of heaters to dry the paper to a moisture content of about 4% and finally is wound into a roll. A method of transparentizing any water absorbent natural fiber material is also disclosed.

摘要: A TRANSPARENTIZED FIBROUS MATERIAL AND PROCESS FOR ITS PREPARATION IS DISCLOSED. A FIBROUS MATERIAL IS TREATED WITH AN IMPREGNATING LIQUID CONTAINING A POLYOL HAVING TWO OR MORE HYDROXYL FUNCTIONS PART OR ALL OF WHICH ARE ETHERIFIED OR ESTERIFIED WITH RADICALS CONTAINING ONE OR MORE ETHER OR ESTER LINKS AND FREE HYDROXYL GROUPS, AND ALSO CONTAINING METHYLOL DERIVATIVES OF A POLYAMINO COMPOUND TOGERHER WITH A CONDENSATION CATALYST. THE IMPREGNATED FIBROUS MATERIAL IS CURED BY RESINATION REACTION IN SITU AND IMMOBILIZATION OF THE IMPREGNATED MATERIAL. A TRANSPARENTIZED FIBROUS MATERIAL RESULTS WHICH IS RESISTANT TO WATER, MOST ORGANIC SOLVENTS, AND HEAT AND IS USEFUL FOR USE AS TRACING MATERIALS AS WELL AS A TRANSLUCENT BASE FOR SENSTIZING WITH REPROGRAPHIC COATINGS.
