摘要: A web-page processing method, at the data write-in stage, converts a web page into web-page data to be stored in a database in a specified format, and parses the web-page data to locate a portion of contents associated with the server-side command(s). Further, the storage information of said portion of contents in the database is recorded as index data. At the run-time stage, the portion of contents associated with the server-side command(s) is outputted to the server when the index data is referred to in response to a read command of the server. Then, the server-side command(s) is executed by the server and outputted to the browser of the client's side.

摘要: An improved technique for facilitating user co-action with a portable electronic device having one or more embedded applications. The application presents information to the user on a display of the electronic device, and the user selects the particular item or data that they want to work with, such as by a double-tap and hold of a stylus over such item or data. In response to such tap and hold selection, a menu appears that prompts the user to select what the next action or step the user desires to invoke. User selection of the next action/step causes creation of a new data record, with information from the current application being automatically included or appended to the next action/step's application record, along with a date stamp. This enables creation of an audit trail or log of the user's actions with the electronic device's applications.

摘要: A data storage system utilizes information about the size and composition of the storage elements so as to permit expansion and contraction of the storage system on the fly. File statistics and the details of volume organization are coordinated making the management of user capacities, costs, and usage considerably easier. Segmented journals are used to permit recovery from system crashes, or unexpected power losses, to be directed to the respective lost areas.

摘要: An Enterprise Energy Management (nullEEMnull) software system is disclosed that displays EEM data and allows a user to interact with the data to better understand and manage their electrical system. The EEM software system collects real-time, near real-time and historical input data from various data sources, creates useful information from that data by filtering and isolating relevant data and performing analytics on the data, displays that data to the user in an easy to understand format, and allows the user to interact with the displayed data. The EEM software allows the user to perform what-if analysis, make changes in their system and verify results of those changes. The graphical user interfaces provide context sensitive and relevant guidance to novice and expert users.

摘要: A method and apparatus for detecting pre-selected data stored on a personal computing device is described. In one embodiment, contents of data storage media of a personal computing device are searched for pre-selected sensitive data. In one embodiment, if at least a portion of the pre-selected sensitive data is detected, a notification of the detection of the pre-selected data is sent to a system via a network. In another embodiment, if at least a portion of pre-selected sensitive data is detected, the access to this data is blocked.

摘要: An efficient information search mechanism provides control over the relaxation of a search query to users that are requesting searches. Through such a mechanism, a user can specify a sequence of sub-queries that is associated with variations of the main search criteria, and specify a progression in which to execute the sub-queries. Hence, users can impart their priorities with respect to search term variations used in relaxing the main search criteria, which further allows the users to impart their notion of the relevance of results that may be returned by particular sub-queries. A query that includes a sequence of sub-queries is received and the sub-queries are executed, if at all, by a database server in an order based on the progression specified by the user. Response time and network loading are improved through reduction of unnecessary work by the database server and through reduction of computationally costly communications between client and server and associated processing.

摘要: Subject matter includes automation of information management through a user-controllable series of runs. In one implementation the series of runs may be gathered into a run profile that has arranged steps for an agent to execute the information management process. The user-controllable series of runs, or run profile, allows performance of many information management processes by the same agent without reconfiguring the agent.

摘要: A method and system for facilitating information exchange between individuals and entities interacting on a shared project are provided, and more particularly to a method and system for horizontal, i.e., non-hierarchical, participation in and/or contribution to a spreadsheet-based project. The method and system is Web-based and utilizes conventional browser and spreadsheet technology to achieve collaborative exchanges of information on an enterprise-wide basis. The method and system also facilitate efficacious remote information access and exchange, e.g., over a computer network such as the Internet and/or the World Wide Web, through a caching function that combines individual queries initiated by a spreadsheet program before transmitting across a network to a server for consideration.
