    摘要： The invention disclosed is an arc protection system for an electrical switch mounted in an electrical cabinet. The system includes an arc suppression housing pivotally mounted in the electrical cabinet. The housing comprises an arc extinguishing chamber having an opening configured to face separable contacts of an electrical switch mounted in the cabinet when the housing has been rotated about the pivot into a closed position. The arc extinguishing chamber is configured to extinguish an electric arc produced by opening the separable contacts when the housing is in the closed position. The system further includes an interference mechanism mounted on the arc suppression housing. The interference mechanism is configured to prevent closure of an access door of the electrical cabinet, when the housing has been rotated about the pivot into an open position configured to enable operator access to the separable contacts of the electrical switch.

Fastener holes (74,76) extend through both the base (12) of the switch and the operating mechanism (14) so that the entire switch assembly (10) can easily be mounted as a unit.

    摘要： A multipole heavy duty manually or remote control operated switch is constructed of individual pole units stacked side-byside. Each pole unit includes first and second molded insulating members joined side to side to form a housing having a chamber, and both stationay contacts and an arc chute are within said chamber. A so-called four-bar linkage connects the switch arms to a bail connected to a common operating mechanism. When the switch is open, the movable contact ends of the switch arms extend beyond the confines of the pole unit housings to provide a positive visual indication that the switch is open. Each switch arm is constructed of two abutting sheet metal members having oppositely extending formations providing contact areas and an area for making a mechanical connection to the operating bail.

    摘要： A combined potentiometer and switching structure including wiper contacts fixed to a shaft and having contacting engagement with an annular resistor and a pair of switching rings. The wiper contacts are located coincident, or in phase relation. The switching rings are each provided with an interrupted area, such areas are located in an arc complemental to the arc of the resistor and are circumferentially spaced apart a distance not greater than the length of the resistor contacting surface whereby, during rotation of the shafts, circuits connected to the switch rings are opened at different positions with respect to the resistor wiping contact. An annular supporting ring formed of electrical insulation material and provided with a central rib projecting from the inner surface thereof serves as a convenient mounting for the switch rings.
