    摘要: A double bunk bed loft system having a staircase and landing on both the lower and upper levels which create hallways between the individual bunks. The hallway allows for users to stand up, but because the placement of upper bunks is over the lower bunks above the beds, the entire bunk system is shorter and saves vertical space. To create a more spacious feel for the lower bunk, the system is designed using exposed beams to support the upper bunk. The upper level remains open to add height.

    摘要: A passenger rest cabin situated in the overhead crown area of an aircraft provides individual rest compartments along either lateral side of a central longitudinal corridor of limited height. The corridor and entrance thereto is configured to minimize the risk of claustrophobia by providing sensory preparation systems and techniques. Sensory preparation including transitional compartments with variations in video, lighting and ventilation are presented to the passenger to create a more inviting space. The limited height corridor is equipped with a series of handholds, sized and spaced according to the size of the average passenger, to mitigate the strain of traversing the corridor in a bent over position.

    摘要: A seat connector which connects a vehicle seat with a base support, and method of connecting the same. The set connector has a base interface which connects to the base support, and a seat interface which connects to the vehicle seat. Both interfaces cooperate together by having the seat interface slide along the base interface. Both during and before this sliding engagement, the weight of the seat interface and the attached seat are supported by the base interface and other weight supports. Upon completing the sliding engagement, the vehicle seat is temporarily in a locked position where movement of the vehicle seat in all directions relative to the base support is restrained, even without the use of mechanical fasteners to secure the connection. The vehicle seat is then secured to the base support with mechanical fasteners. The vehicle seat can be removed from the base support by sliding the vehicle seat in a rearward direction along the base interface.

    摘要: A system for optimal space utilization by using at least one raisable and lowerable berth. The at least one berth can be raised to a storage or day position and lowered to a service or night position by a driving motor operatively connected to the berth. The position of the berth is essentially horizontal in the storage as well as the service position. The berth is provided with guiding bodies for movable engagement along essentially vertical guide rails fastened adjacent to limiting walls of the compartment in question. The guide rails can also be a part of the bearing structure of the compartment. Below the berth there are arranged at least one permanently mounted, pivotable chair capable of being stowed and/or put down in a position to free the necessary space for lowering the berth to the night position.

    摘要: An upper berth is hingedly supported on the partition wall of a sleeping compartment. One end of the berth is provided with a vertical hanger member having an upper hook shape end which is adapted to engage a bracket mounted on the outer wall of the sleeping compartment. The hook and bracket arrangement provides a supple support for the berth in the use position and may easily be moved to a stowed position. The shelf arrangement supported by the bracket is positioned immediately adjacent the sleeping berth.

    摘要: A rack-like sleeping apparatus for aircraft passengers comprising a frame having multiple spaced sliding couches with open end or side panels, and folding tables. The frame comprises a plurality of vertically-spaced longitudinal side rails, integrated by vertical corner posts and cross rails to form a unitary, torsionally stiff structure. Each rack is subdivided into three vertically-stacked compartments, separated from one another by panels. A couch is longitudinally slidably disposed in each compartment by means of rollers which interfit with the side rails. The tables are also longitudinally slidably mounted on mediate side rails in each compartment, and are detachable from one side. The entire rack is mounted on rollers and has an upper attachment means for securement within an aircraft.

These berths are formed of couchettes whose flexible and/or rigid bottoms have an at least transversally concave general shape and whose widths decrease advantageously toward the extremities, particularly from the hips to the feet.
