Abstract:
A memory circuit system and method are provided. An interface circuit is capable of communication with a plurality of memory circuits and a system. In use, the interface circuit is operable to translate an address associated with a command communicated between the system and the memory circuits.
Abstract:
In a first method, branched polysilanes are prepared via a Wurtz-type coupling reaction by reacting a mixture of a dihalosilanes and a trihalosilanes with an alkali metal coupling agent in an organic liquid medium. The reaction mixture is free of tetrahalosilanes. The branched polysilanes are recovered from the reaction mixture. In a second method, capped-branched polysilanes are prepared via the same Wurtz-type coupling reaction noted above, with the addition of a capping agent to the reaction mixture. The capping agent can be a monohalosilane, monoalkoxysilane, or trialkoxysilane. Capped-branched polysilanes are re-covered from the reaction mixture. The branched polysilanes are soluble in organic liquid mediums.
Abstract:
A method of providing contextual support services to customer premise equipment (CPE), the CPE coupled to an internet protocol television (IPTV) network. The method includes operating a network element as a support terminal server, the network element being part of a communications network. CPE status information is received from the CPE indicating the current status of the CPE. A request from the CPE for contextual support is received and a contextual support server coupled to the communications network is accessed. The contextual support server accesses contextual support information in response to the CPE status. The contextual support information is provided to the CPE.
Abstract:
A damper has a piston having an axis, an outer surface, and opposing ends. Elastomeric seals are in sealing contact with the outer surface of the piston, the seals being coaxial with the piston and limiting movement of the piston to a path along the axis of the piston. The seals also define fluid chambers adjacent the ends of the piston. A primary passage communicates the fluid chambers, and a selectively switchable valve for controls a flow of fluid from one of the chambers to another of the chambers through the primary passage. When the flow of fluid through the primary passage is permitted, movement of the piston is resisted by a first spring rate due to a shear force required to cause shear deflection of the seals. When the flow of fluid through the primary passage is restricted, movement of the piston is resisted by a second spring rate due to a fluid force required to cause bulging deflection of the seals.
Abstract:
A foot protection barrier for protecting at least a portion of a person's foot is provided. The foot protection barrier includes a sheet of material having an upper surface and a lower surface. The sheet of material is substantially non-deformable such that the sheet of material is non-conforming to the person's foot upon the foot being placed on the upper surface when the sheet of material is positioned on a rigid, planar surface. An effective amount of an adhesive is disposed on at least a portion of the upper surface such that the upper surface adheres to the person's foot when the person's foot is positioned thereon. An effective amount of a non-skid material is disposed on at least a portion of the lower surface for providing a non-skid surface to the lower surface for preventing the person from slipping as the person moves across a support surface.
Abstract:
A vehicle roof mounted exterior air extraction unit with an elevated profile to exclude moisture from entering the vehicle, incorporating a fan for removing hot air from inside the vehicle on hot days, powered by a photovoltaic solar cell activated by an infra-red signal when the vehicle is stationary, with the whole unit incorporated in a stylised low wind resistant shape that compliments modern vehicle design.
Abstract:
Large capacity memory systems are constructed using stacked memory integrated circuits or chips. The stacked memory chips are constructed in such a way that eliminates problems such as signal integrity while still meeting current and future memory standards.
Abstract:
The invention includes methods of forming oxide structures under corners of transistor gate stacks and adjacent trenched isolation regions. Such methods can include exposure of a semiconductor material to steam and H2, with the H2 being present to a concentration of from about 2% to about 40%, by volume. An oxide structure formed under the bottom corner of a transistor gate stack can have a bottom surface with a topography that includes a step of at least about 50 Å, and an upper surface directly over the bottom surface and having a topography that is substantially planar. Methodology of the present invention can be utilized to form semiconductor constructions suitable for incorporation into highly integrated circuitry. The highly integrated circuitry can be incorporated into electronic systems, and can, for example, be utilized in processors and/or memory storage devices.
Abstract:
A tether fastening device includes a tether clip and a strap to couple a first engagement structure, such as a vehicle chassis, and a second engagement structure, such as a body panel. The strap is coupled to the tether clip and couples the first engagement structure with the second engagement structure to allow for controlled detachment. When attached, the tether clip fastens the first engagement structure with the second engagement structure. For example, the tether clip and first engagement structure may detach from the second engagement structure; however, the strap controls the acceleration, speed and distance displaced between the first engagement structure and the second engagement structure. According to one embodiment, the tether clip may further include a tether cap integrated with the strap and a fastener clip operative to couple to the tether cap.
