Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for initiating beam training in systems that use beamformed wireless communications. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may establish communications using a first beam, and the UE may determine that a signal quality of the first beam is lower than a threshold value and that a beam training procedure is to be initiated. The UE may transmit a beam training request to initiate the beam training procedure, which may be transmitted as part of a bit sequence that is used to transmit uplink control information to the base station, such as with acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgment feedback, a scheduling request, or other uplink control information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may select, based at least in part on a sensor selection criteria, a first subset of sensors from a set of available sensors of the UE, each sensor in the set of available sensors associated with a sensor type. The UE may perform, using the first subset of sensors, sensing operations to obtain a first sensing data, the first sensing data comprising sensing data measured by the UE during the sensing operations. The UE may transmit a first sensing report indicating the first sensing data. The UE may receive, based at least in part on the first sensing report, a second sensing report indicating a second sensing data, the second sensing data comprising a unified sensing report based on the first sensing report from the UE and one or more additional sensing reports from other UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit control signaling indicating a capability of the UE for supporting a first duplex mode and indicating a mode switching latency of the UE for switching between the first duplex mode and a second duplex mode. In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication of a set of supported full-duplex channel combinations, where each channel combination of the set of supported full-duplex channel combinations may include an uplink channel and a downlink channel. In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication of a duration for which the capability of the UE for supporting the first duplex mode is applicable. The UE may receive scheduling information based on the capability of the UE for supporting the first duplex mode and the mode switching latency, and communicate with a base station based on the scheduling information.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for wireless communication of a first node. The apparatus can receive a first signal from a second node of one or more additional nodes, the first signal including at least one first timing reference. The apparatus can also determine a second timing reference quality of a second timing reference. The apparatus can also transmit a second signal to at least one node of the one or more additional nodes, the second signal including a second timing reference. Additionally, the apparatus can broadcast, to the one or more additional nodes, an indication of a second timing reference quality of the second timing reference. The apparatus can also receive an indication of a first timing reference quality. Moreover, the apparatus can adjust the indication of the quality of the at least one timing first reference from the second node.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for beam switching by a repeater node that forwards communications from one of a first node or a second node to the other of the first node or the second node. For example, after a change of position by the second node, the first node may provide the repeater node an instruction to perform a beam change operation to communicate with the second node. In some aspects, performing the beam change operation by the repeater node may improve reliability of wireless communications, such as by focusing signal energy in a particular direction. Further, a beam change delay time interval or a scheduling of the beam change delay time interval may be selected based on scheduling associated with other nodes, which may reduce a number of messages sent to the repeater node (such as by reducing instructions to change beam directions).

Abstract: A configuration to configure a UE to activate a subset of configured SRS trigger states. The apparatus receives a configuration activating a subset of configured SRS trigger states. The apparatus receives DCI in a PDCCH triggering an aperiodic SRS transmission based on one or more SRS trigger states of activated SRS trigger states. The apparatus determines an aperiodic SRS resource set based on the configuration and the DCI indicating the one or more SRS trigger states. The apparatus transmits aperiodic SRS within the aperiodic SRS resource set.

Abstract: The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support modem control using millimeter wave (mmW) energy measurement. Generally, the described techniques provide for wireless device (e.g., wireless repeater) power savings in the absence of an attached (e.g., connected) user equipment (UE). For example, a wireless repeater may perform relay operations (e.g., amplification and forwarding operations) for communications between a base station and a UE in some channel (e.g., in a mmW channel). The wireless repeater may use energy measurements in the channel (e.g., analog mmW measurements) to control or configure a digital interface for monitoring out of band control information (e.g., in a sub-6 gigahertz (GHz) channel). For example, a wireless repeater may use energy measurements of signals transmitted by devices in a mmW band to configure (e.g., turn on) a digital interface of another modem to monitor for control information in a sub-6 GHz band.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To communicate messages using one or more grating lobes of a directional beam, a first device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), a base station) may transmit, to a second device, control signaling that indicates the transmission of a message on a grating lobe. The first device may determine a set of beamforming parameters for simultaneously transmitting the message to the second device and a third device. The first device may simultaneously transmit the message to third device on a main lobe and to the second device on the grating lobe. Additionally, or alternatively, the first device may simultaneously receive a message on a main lobe and a grating lobe of a directional beam. The first device may also communicate control signaling that indicates whether to simultaneously communicate the message on the main lobe and the grating lobe.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques may enable a first wireless device (e.g., a parent node) to transmit a control message to a second wireless device (e.g., a child node). The control message may include a resource reservation for communication with the second wireless device. The second wireless device may receive the control message and may transmit an acknowledgment message acknowledging successful reception of the resource reservation. The first wireless device may monitor for the acknowledgment message and may communicate with the second wireless device based on whether the acknowledgment message is received. For example, if the first wireless device receives feedback acknowledging successful reception of the resource reservation at the second wireless device, the devices may communicate data in the reserved resources. Otherwise, the first wireless device may retransmit a control message if the first control message was not successfully received.
