    Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. In some aspects, the apparatus may be a user equipment (UE) or a component thereof; however, in some other aspects, the apparatus may be a base station or a component thereof. The apparatus may be configured as a first wireless node that transmits, to a second wireless node, capability information indicating a capability of the first wireless node to perform sensing when operating with carrier aggregation. The apparatus may communicate a set of sensing signals on a plurality of carriers between the first wireless node and the second wireless node based on the capability information. The apparatus also may sense an object based on a set of calculations associated with an aggregated sensing bandwidth of the set of sensing signals.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device may support beamformed communications, which may be implemented via reflection from environmental clusters, assistance from relays, repeaters, reconfigurable intelligence surface nodes, or some combination thereof. The communication device may partition a packet into multiple subpackets, where the communication device may assign one or more subpackets to one or more beams within a set of beams for beamformed communications. That is, the communication device may split the packet across the set of beams used for beamformed communications with another communication device. The subpackets may not be decodable independently. As such, the communication device may indicate which beams correspond to which subpackets to enable concatenation and decoding at the other communication device.

    Abstract: Aspects presented herein may improve UE positioning by providing enhanced resource patterns that may reduce positioning latency and resource overhead for the UE positioning. In one aspect, a transmitter divides a reference signal associated with UE positioning into a plurality of sub-bandwidths, each of the plurality of sub-bandwidths being associated with a comb offset. The transmitter transmits, to a receiver, the reference signal via the plurality of sub-bandwidths. In another aspect, a receiver receives a configuration to measure a reference signal associated with UE positioning. The receiver receives, from a transmitter, the reference signal via a plurality of sub-bandwidths, each of the plurality of sub-bandwidths being associated with a comb offset.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In an example, a method for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE) in a wireless communications system is described, including receiving, from a base station, information associated with one or more reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) in the wireless communications system. The method may also include transmitting a sensing signal to the one or more RISs based at least in part on the information and transmitting an uplink wireless communication to the base station or a second UE using the one or more RISs based at least in part on the sensing. Another method includes determining information associated with one or more RISs in the wireless communications system, transmitting, to a UE, the information associated with the RISs, and communicating with the UE via the RISs based at least in part on the information associated with the RISs.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for determining a joint priority of sidelink and access link (Uu) positioning reference signal (PRS) transmissions in a wireless communication system. A joint priority of a PRS transmission may refer to a priority of the PRS transmission over the entire set of PRS transmissions including sidelink PRS transmissions and Uu PRS transmissions transmitted to a target UE in a sidelink positioning session. In aspects, a joint priority of a sidelink PRS transmission from an anchor UE may be determined with respect to not only other sidelink transmissions, but also with respect to other Uu PRS transmissions from other anchor base stations. Similarly, a joint priority of a Uu PRS transmission from an anchor base station may be determined with respect to not only other Uu transmissions, but also with respect to other sidelink PRS transmissions from other anchor UEs.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. During an operation for discovering reconfigurable surfaces, a sensing signal may be transmitted. Based on the sensing signal being transmitted, another signal may be detected at the device that transmitted the sensing signal, another device, or both. The device that detects the signal may combine the detected signal with a modulation sequence that is associated with a reconfigurable surface, where the reconfigurable surface may be assigned a set of unique modulation sequences and configured to apply a modulation sequence to received signals. Based on combining the detected signal with the modulation sequence, the device may determine whether the reconfigurable surface is present within a geographic region.
