Abstract: A treatment system for debriding a treatment area of a tissue site and applying negative pressure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include an ultrasonic bubble generator fluidly coupled to a negative-pressure source, fluid source, and a dressing. Fluid may be drawn from the fluid source to the ultrasonic bubble generator, whereby micro-bubbles and ultrasonic waves may be generated in the fluid before the fluid is instilled to the dressing.

A gripping member is coupled to the sealing drape and is configured to transmit the closing force to a patient's epidermis. Other dressings, systems, and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing installation therapy and negative-pressure therapy are described. The apparatus further includes a fluid inlet fluidly coupled to the dosing chamber and configured to be fluidly coupled to a fluid source and a fluid outlet fluidly coupled to the dosing chamber and configured to be fluidly coupled to a dressing. A pressure inlet is fluidly coupled to the therapy conduit and the pressure chamber; and a check valve is disposed in the therapy conduit.

Abstract: A system for applying reduced pressure to tissue includes a multi-lumen reduced pressure delivery tube having a proximate end, a distal end, a primary lumen extending through the conduit from the proximate end to the distal end, and an ancillary lumen extending through the conduit from the proximate end to the distal end. A vacuum pump is coupled to the proximate end of the primary lumen, and a reduced pressure adapter is coupled to the distal end of the reduced pressure delivery tube. The adapter includes channels to direct liquid away from the ancillary lumens and into the primary lumen.

Abstract: A disc pump includes a pump body having a cavity for containing a fluid. The disc pump also includes an actuator adapted to hold an electrostatic charge to cause an oscillatory motion at a drive frequency. The disc pump further includes a conductive plate positioned to face the actuator outside of the cavity and adapted to provide an electric field of reversible polarity, the conductive plate being electrically associated with the actuator to cause the actuator to oscillate at the drive frequency in response to reversing the polarity of the electric field. The disc pump further includes a valve disposed in at least one of a first aperture and a second aperture in the pump body. The oscillation of the actuator at the drive frequency causes fluid flow through the first aperture and the second aperture when in use.

Abstract: Subject matter relating to pressure regulation is described. In one illustrative embodiment, an apparatus for regulating pressure may include a supply chamber, a control chamber, and a charging chamber. The supply chamber may have a supply port adapted for coupling to a supply lumen, and the control chamber may have a control port adapted for coupling to a feedback lumen. The charging chamber can be fluidly coupled to the supply chamber through a charging port. A regulator valve within the control chamber can operate to control fluid communication through the charging port based on a differential between pressure in the control chamber and a target pressure.

Abstract: A dressing for treating a tissue site may include a base layer, a sealing member, a first and a second wicking layer, and an absorbent layer. The base layer may have a plurality of apertures and may be adapted to cover the tissue site. The sealing member and the base layer may define an enclosure. The first and the second wicking layer may each be disposed in the enclosure with the absorbent layer positioned between the first and the second wicking layer. A conduit comprised of an absorbent material that is vapor permeable and liquid impermeable may be in fluid communication with the dressing for providing reduced pressure to the dressing. Other dressings, systems, and methods are disclosed.
