Abstract: Channel occupancy time (COT) aware sensing and resource selection for new radio-unlicensed (NR-U) sidelink operations is disclosed. A first sidelink user equipment (UE) determines a sensing window or resource selection window (RSW) based on a projected listen-before-talk (LBT) completion time. The UE may sense for a subset of sideline resources within the RSW and COT-SI from a neighboring sidelink UE including identification of a COT initiated by the neighboring UE and one or more parameters associated with the COT. The UE may identify in-COT resources of located within the COT and out-COT resources located outside of the COT and then randomly select a set of transmission resources from the in-COT and out-COT resources. The UE may then transmit to a second UE using the set of transmission resources.

Abstract: Sub-resource pools for transmission of new radio (NR) sidelink (NR SL) over unlicensed bands is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) capable for sidelink communications may receive a sidelink configuration message from a serving base station that includes identification of a plurality of channel access types associated with a plurality of sub-resource pools for autonomous sidelink access of a shared communication channel. The UE may obtain information for a sidelink transmission over a transmission resource pool allocated for the autonomous sidelink access and determine the plurality of sub-resource pools from available resources within the transmission resource pool according to a channel access type of each resource, wherein each sub-resource pool includes a subset of resources associated with a corresponding channel access type. The UE may then select a sub-resource pool for sidelink transmission and transmit the information on a transmission resource selected from the sub-resource pool.

In some aspects, a node may identify a listen-before-talk (LBT) success time at which an LBT procedure, performed by the node, succeeds; determine a lag between the LBT success time and a most recent synchronization reference boundary that occurred prior to the LBT success time; and determine a maximum channel occupancy time for transmissions on an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band based at least in part on comparing the lag and a threshold. Abstract: Autonomous uplink (AUL) for wideband new radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) operations is disclosed. For user equipments (UEs) that have been configured for AUL transmissions and have received an activation signal to activate the AUL capabilities, further indications may be used to enable AUL transmissions on AUL transmission opportunities (TxOPs) that overlap the timing of a current TxOP reserved by a serving base station, but that are allocated outside of the resources reserved for the current TxOP. A UE that identifies a desired, next AUL TxOP that overlaps the current base station-initiated TxOP duration, but is allocated for resources outside of the current TxOP resources determines whether it has obtained an enablement indication either directly from the serving base station or implicitly, based on current conditions at the UE. When the UE determines that it has obtained an enabling indication, it may then perform AUL transmissions via the overlapping AUL TxOP.

Abstract: New radio (NR) unlicensed (NR-U) operations are discussed with channel occupancy time (COT) multiple downlink-uplink switching opportunities supported by an active channel indication. A network node that initiates a COT for transmissions may identify a within-channel occupancy time (COT) scheduled downlink-uplink switching configuration. After beginning transmissions on the COT, the node receives an active channel indication from one or more additional network nodes. In response to the active channel indication, the node may then perform communications with the node from which the active channel indication is received according to the within-COT scheduled downlink-uplink switching configuration for the current COT on a shared communication channel.

Abstract: A medium reservation framework is disclosed for coexistence of coordinated and uncoordinated wireless networks in licensed spectrum and shared spectrum. The proposed medium reservation framework organically takes into account operating regimes with different numbers of Tx/Rx antennas per node, provides flexibility in trading off medium contention aggressiveness and power saving, leverages the inherent synchronization nature of NR, and covers both coordinated and uncoordinated operation scenarios. Various aspects of the medium reservation framework may be centered on one or more combinations of some basic building blocks, such as an operation grid, synchronization signals, and reservation messages, such as a reservation request signal (RRQ) and one or more a reservation response signals (RRS).

Abstract: In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), a first transmission in a first Channel Occupancy Time (COT) for a NR-U sidelink channel. The method also includes reserving, by the UE, a resource in a non-shared portion of a second COT and performing, by the UE, a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) Category (CAT) 4 operation at a start of the second COT, wherein the second COT is associated with the UE. The method includes performing, by the UE, a continuous transmission operation in the second COT based on successfully performing the LBT CAT 4 operation. The method further includes transmitting, by the UE, a second transmission in the reserved resource of the non-shared portion of the second COT based on successfully performing a second LBT CAT 1 or 2 operation. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may send coupled configured grants to a transmitter user equipment (UE) and a receiver UE, respectively. For example, when transmitting a pair of configured grants that includes a first configured grant sent to a first UE and a second configured grant sent to a second UE, the base station may include an indication in each of the configured grants that sidelink semi-persistent scheduling resources are activated or deactivated. Additionally, the configured grants may indicate which UE is a receiver and which UE is a transmitter. For instance, the first configured grant may indicate that a first UE is to be the transmitter and a second configured grant indicate that a second UE is to be the receiver.
