Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for positioning. In an aspect, a network node receives, from a location server, a first request requesting on-demand positioning reference signal (PRS) configurations supported by the network node, transmits a response to the location server, the response identifying one or more alternate PRS configurations, one or more alternate PRS parameters, or both defining one or more on-demand PRS resources the network node would prefer to transmit during a positioning session between the location server and one or more target UEs, receives, from the location server, a second request requesting on-demand PRS transmission, the second request identifying at least one alternate PRS configuration, at least one alternate PRS parameter, or both, and transmits at least one on-demand PRS resource according to the at least one alternate PRS configuration, the at least one PRS parameter, or both.

Abstract: Disclosed are various techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a network entity, a positioning reference signal (PRS) configuration indicating one or more PRS resources. The UE determines that one or more transmission properties of the one or more resources should be modified and transmits PRS modification information to the network entity based on the one or more transmission properties of one or more PRS resources to be modified. The network entity may be a location server or location management function. The PRS modification information may include a request to modify the PRS configuration and information indicating a start time, a stop time, a duration, or a combination thereof, associated with modifying the PRS configuration.

Abstract: Information inherently conveyed in the hierarchical structure of a positioning frequency layer is leveraged to determine a sequence identifier unique to each Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) resource of a sequence of PRS resources used in a positioning session of a user equipment (UE).
