摘要: A rotating cutter apparatus including a housing having a housing interior surface defining a housing bore, a shaft extending through the housing bore such that an annular space is provided between the housing interior surface and the shaft, and at least one cutter carried on the shaft. The shaft is rotatable relative to the housing about a shaft axis. The at least one cutter extends radially toward the housing interior surface and is rotatable relative to the housing about the shaft axis. A method for reducing a size of solid objects contained in a fluid, including providing a rotating cutter apparatus, introducing the fluid containing the solid objects into the rotating cutter apparatus, and rotating a shaft and at least one cutter in order to reduce the size of the solid objects while passing the fluid through the rotating cutter apparatus.

摘要: A bridge plug includes a splayable assembly. The splayable assembly includes an upper annulus with upper extensions, a lower annulus with lower extensions opposing the upper annulus along an axis extending through the upper annulus and the lower annulus, and a linkage connecting the lower annulus to the upper annulus. The linkage has an upper link pivotably connected to a lower link, the upper link pivotably connected between circumferentially adjacent upper extensions and the lower link pivotably connected between circumferentially adjacent lower extensions. The elastic barrier sleeve extends circumferentially about the splayable assembly such that movement of the lower annulus towards the upper annulus expands the elastic barrier sleeve to form a barrier within a wellbore. Bridge plug arrangements and methods of emplacing bridge plugs in wellbores are also described.

摘要: A tool brake is provided for use in horizontal wells that is positionable between a setting tool and a setting sleeve in combination with a tool string. Upon activation of the setting tool to set a bridge plug in a well, the normal action of the setting tool causes activation of the tool brake that extends one or more arms from the tool brake to exert pressure against the wellbore casing of the well. The tool brake prevents reverse slippage caused by gravity's pull of the tool string in a horizontal well permitting accurate placement of downhole tools such as perforating guns. Moreover, inadvertent cutting of a cable that retrieves the downhole tools can be prevented such as due to slippage of downhole tools over-lapping the cable before perforating guns are detonated.

The stack configurator can receive a selection of an installer type and generate a customized build of the installer type. The customized build of the installer can be an offline installer that is deployable on an offline target machine using a first communication media or an online installer that is deployable to an online target machine using a second communication media.

摘要: A dual clutch travel joint system includes an inner-mandrel and an outer-mandrel. The inner-mandrel includes a first connector on a downhole portion of the inner-mandrel and a second connector on an uphole portion of the inner-mandrel. The outer-mandrel includes a third connector that is positionable to mate with the first connector to apply torque to the inner-mandrel while the inner-mandrel is in a tension arrangement with the outer-mandrel within a wellbore. Additionally, the outer-mandrel includes a fourth connector positionable to mate with the second connector to apply torque to the inner-mandrel while the inner-mandrel is in a compression arrangement with the outer-mandrel within the wellbore.

摘要: A method of treating a subterranean formation can include: introducing a first fluid into a wellbore penetrating the subterranean formation; introducing a second fluid into the wellbore after introduction of the first fluid, wherein the second fluid comprises: a base fluid comprising water; a viscosifier; and a stabilizer, and wherein the second fluid has a rheological 3-rpm dial reading to 300-rpm dial reading ratio in the range of 1:1 to 1:3; and introducing a third fluid into the wellbore after introduction of the second fluid, wherein the second fluid inhibits or prevents the first fluid from mixing with the third fluid. The second fluid can be a liquid plug that substantially inhibits or prevents the first fluid from mixing with the third fluid. The first fluid can be a drilling mud or spacer fluid. The third fluid can be a spacer fluid or a cement composition.
