    摘要: A wellbore isolation tool, e.g., a bridge plug, provides the ability to seal portions of a well from production or to temporarily seal zones of a well from treatment. A bridge plug may include a sealing element supported by one or more segmented barrier devices that operate to prohibit extrusion of the sealing element as the sealing element is subjected to an axial force. The segmented barrier device may operate passively as segments are driven radially outward by the radial expansion of the sealing element when subject to the axial force and driven radially inward by leaf springs when the axial force is removed. Segments of the segmented barrier device may circumferentially overlap and form a generally flat shoulder supporting the sealing element. The segmented barrier device may include a jacket covering the segments, and a sealing element may be supported by a segmented barrier device on each axial end.

The method, in one embodiment, includes providing a downhole conveyance device, and providing providing an ultrasonic defect inspection system adjacent the downhole conveyance device. The method, in this embodiment, further includes detecting defects in the downhole conveyance device using the ultrasonic defect inspection system, wherein the detecting includes transmitting ultrasonic waves from the ultrasonic defect inspection system toward the downhole conveyance device, and obtaining defect data by sensing disruptions in the reflected ultrasonic waves caused by defects in the downhole conveyance device.

The plug may have an expandable sealing member positioned between the first end and the second end of the plug. A support device may extending at least partially between a first end of the plug and the expandable sealing member. The support device may include a recess. An elastomeric material may be positioned at least partially within the recess of the support device. A cover may be positioned at least partially over the support device for reducing extrusion of the elastomeric material from within the recess of the support device in the expanded diameter.

    摘要: A bridge plug includes a splayable assembly. The splayable assembly includes an upper annulus with upper extensions, a lower annulus with lower extensions opposing the upper annulus along an axis extending through the upper annulus and the lower annulus, and a linkage connecting the lower annulus to the upper annulus. The linkage has an upper link pivotably connected to a lower link, the upper link pivotably connected between circumferentially adjacent upper extensions and the lower link pivotably connected between circumferentially adjacent lower extensions. The elastic barrier sleeve extends circumferentially about the splayable assembly such that movement of the lower annulus towards the upper annulus expands the elastic barrier sleeve to form a barrier within a wellbore. Bridge plug arrangements and methods of emplacing bridge plugs in wellbores are also described.

The diagnostic coating has one or more constituents that undergoes an optically-detectable physical change responsive to changing values of one or more downhole parameters. After exposing the diagnostic coating of the service tool to the downhole environment, the tool may be retrieved from the wellbore and inspected to detect any physical change indicative of the service tool having been exposed to elevated values of the one or more downhole parameters.

    摘要: Assemblies and methods are provided for retrieving a sealing assembly from within a tubing string positioned downhole in a wellbore. The sealing assembly may include a plug that may include a non-elastomeric material at least partially surrounding an elastomeric material. The sealing assembly may be run downhole in the wellbore with the plug at an original diameter. The sealing assembly may be set such that the plug is expanded to a set diameter. The retrieval tool may be coupled to the sealing assembly and may be extended in a first direction. The extension of the retrieval tool may lengthen the sealing assembly. The lengthening of the sealing assembly may extend the length of the plug and may thereby reduce the diameter of the plug. In some aspects, the retrieval tool may reduce the diameter of the plug back to the original diameter.
