摘要: A method of sealing an annulus between first and second bore-lining tubulars comprises providing a first bore-lining tubular having a first volume of alloy thereon and running the first bore-lining tubular into a bore provided with a second bore-lining tubular. The alloy is fluidised and then allowed to solidify in an annulus between the bore-lining tubulars and bond the tubulars together. The alloy may be fluidised in the presence of flux.

摘要: A tool comprises a tool body having a bore, a secondary chamber within the tool body, a flow port between the bore and the secondary chamber; a cover component within the bore moveable between at least two positions along the length of the bore, and a control arrangement connected to control movement of the cover component within the bore. The control arrangement comprises a moveable piston and a guide component, one of which has a track and the other has a protruding element received in the track. In a first position, the cover component covers an entrance to the flow port, so that fluid flowing along the bore may not flow into the flow port. In a second position, the cover component does not cover the entrance to the flow port, so that fluid flowing along the bore may flow through the flow port and into the secondary chamber.

摘要: An assembly comprises a downhole tool and a gripper. The downhole tool is configured to be set in a wellbore and milled after a scheduled period, wherein the downhole tool has a first tool end and a second tool end along a longitudinal direction. The gripper is positioned opposite the first tool end along the longitudinal direction, wherein the gripper comprises a slider and an activator. The activator is configured to be moved by the downhole tool relative to the slider between an inactivated position and an activated position when the downhole tool is milled from the second tool end. The slider remains unmoved when the activator is in the inactivated position, and the slider moves radially to engage with an internal wall of the wellbore and stop the downhole tool from rotation when the activator is in the activated position.

摘要: A chemical reaction heat source for use in heaters for downhole applications is provided. The heat source has a solid fuel composition that comprises thermite and a binding agent. The binding agent serves to maintain the solid form of the solid fuel composition during burning and ensure a predetermined uniform heating pattern can be provided for longer. The solid fuel composition can be provided in the form of blocks. The solid fuel composition can also be provided in the form of a plurality of fragments that, during burning, behave more like powdered thermite and can flow.

摘要: A wellbore is plugged using a bismuth alloy. In one embodiment, the bismuth alloy comprises an alloy of bismuth and tin. In another embodiment, the bismuth alloy comprises an alloy of bismuth and silver. The wellbore can be arranged so that a liquid bismuth alloy sets with an excess pressure of the plug relative to the borehole fluid pressure along a desired seal height distance. Other aspects are described and claimed.

摘要: A location of a cut and an amount of force to be used in a pull operation for a plug & abandonment (P&A) operation can be determined. Measurements of at least one characteristic of fluids and solids disposed in an annulus defined between a casing and a wall of a wellbore can be received. A total fluid and solid friction force drag can be determined using hydrostatic force that is determined from the measurements. A mechanical friction force drag can be determined based on a weight of the casing. The mechanical friction force drag and the total fluid and solid friction force drag can be used to determine a friction factor. The friction factor can be used to determine a depth location at which to cut the casing and a pull force for pulling the casing from the wellbore in the P&A operation.

摘要: A method of plugging a hydrocarbon well includes deploying a downhole tool to remove at least a portion of a casing at a section of well to be plugged. Then a plugging material is put downhole onto a blocking device to fill an area to be plugged. An exothermic fluid is added, wherein activation of the exothermic material liquefies the plugging material. Allowing the plugging material and the exothermic fluid to solidify form a cast-in-place plug that fills the section of well to be plugged.

摘要: A plugging assembly includes a plug and a setting tool attached directly to the plug, wherein the plug includes an elongate core with an uphole end and a downhole end opposite the uphole end, and a sealing element disposed fully around the core to seal against the casing. The plug additionally includes an anchoring system for anchoring the plug to the casing in a fixed position, a compression fitting disposed around the core at or near the uphole end of the core, and a nose at the downhole end of the core. The setting tool includes an elongate housing extending between an uphole end and a downhole end opposite the uphole end, an open passageway extending from the uphole end to the downhole end of the housing, and the downhole end of the housing is aligned to directly engage the compression fitting of the plug.

摘要: A system for setting a wellhead pressure after a through tubing bridge plug is installed in a wellbore includes a slickline unit, a static bottomhole pressure gauge, and a pressure setting unit. The slickline unit includes the static bottomhole pressure gauge. The static bottomhole pressure gauge includes internal memory that stores a measured bottomhole pressure. The pressure setting unit sets a wellhead pressure based on the measured bottomhole pressure stored in the internal memory of the static bottomhole pressure gauge. A related method includes installing a through tubing bridge plug in a wellbore, deploying a slickline unit into the wellbore, wherein the slickline unit includes a pressure gauge, measuring bottomhole pressure with the pressure gauge, and setting a wellhead pressure based on the measured bottomhole pressure.
