摘要： A temperature control system having heating and cooling means is provided with a means for automatically shifting the temperature control point in accordance with the outdoor ambient temperature and the K-Factor of the room in which the temperature control system is operating. Means are provided for modifying a signal corresponding to the outdoor ambient temperature in accordance with the K-Factor of the room and the modified signal is used to shift the control point so that room temperature changes caused by heat transfer through the walls are prevented by providing additional heating or cooling to compensate for such transfer without the need for adjusting the set point of the temperature control system. The K-Factor adjustment is made during installation of the temperature control system and is set in accordance with the K-Factor provided by the building architect.

摘要： In the transmitter portion a multiplexer multiplexes first digital data and first teletype signals to provide first digital data signals. The first digital data signals are converted into second digital data signals having a different form than the first digital data signals by a Viterbi coder. A PSK modulator responsive to the second digital data signals provides a first PSK signal for transmission. In the receiver portion a PSK demodulator receives a second PSK signal containing third digital data signals having multiplexed second digital data and second teletype signals with the third digital data signals being extracted from the second PSK signal. A Viterbi decoder converts the third digital data signals into fourth digital data signlas having a different digital form than the third digital data signals. A PSK demultiplexer is responsive to the fourth digital data signals to separate the second digital data and the second teletype signals for utilization. The arrangement to extract the third digital data signals from the second PSK signals includes the PSK demodulator and a Costas' type phase locked loop including a number controlled oscillator, a digital phase shifter, an accumulator arrangement including three accumulators accumulating different data and errors, a clock recovery circuit and a loop filter controlling the number controlled oscillator.

摘要： A connector for coupling a pair of single optical fibers is disclosed. Each contact of the connector utilizes three spheres of equal diameter defining a tricuspid interstitial space therebetween into which the end of a fiber is mounted. The spheres are embraced by a circular race. In the preferred embodiment, the spheres engage each other and the race. When a pair of contacts are mated in axial abutting relationship, the spheres in the mating contacts nest with respect to each other, thereby precisely laterally aligning the optical fibers which are mounted in the interstitial spaces of the sets of spheres in the two contacts. In another embodiment, the spheres are dimensioned so they do not engage each other, but engage the optical fiber at three points. Also, more than three spheres may be mounted in a contact for positioning a fiber therein.

摘要： A variable air volume air conditioning system is provided with thermostat controlled variable air volume terminal boxes for controlling the volume of constant temperature conditioned air provided to each space to be conditioned. The conditioned air is delivered through a short pressure recovery duct to a trunk duct by a centrifugal fan having forward curved blades. The trunk duct pressure is maintained substantially constant by control vanes disposed at the recovery duct outlet, said control vanes being responsive to an increase in duct pressure to close the duct outlet and unload the fan, thereby reducing the energy consumed by the fan. Economizer operation is provided by the use of return air dampers and outside air dampers controlled in response to outside air temperature and air supply duct temperature to mix outside air and return air to reduce the amount of mechanical refrigeration required. A power air return means is provided for returning air to the system from the spaces that are conditioned and for controlling the amount of return air in accordance with the volume of air delivered to the conditioned spaces.

To avoid a bimetallic effect, a core layer of a fused metal is sandwiched between two outer layers of the second metal.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a transducer having a leaf spring cantilever beam with a strain gauge bonded to each side thereof by a layer of glass. Either one or both strain gauges and one or both glass layers are bonded simultaneously. The assembly is heated and a voltage applied to complete all bonds without removing it from the oven. The simultaneous bonding without oven removal doubles or quadruples production and unexpectedly has the dual function of increasing yield by over one-third based upon matched gauge resistance and strength requirements.

摘要： A frequency scan radar system is provided which scans in groups of nine contemporaneous beams which partially overlap in angular coverage in the plane of scan, such that any given target is illuminated by at least two of the beams. Receiving means separates echoes according to frequency (which relates to angle) in nine corresponding channels. Logic circuitry is employed to determine presence of signal in one or more channels. Bona fide echo signals occur in not less than two adjacent channels, whereas limited spectrum interference or jamming signals occur in only one channel. Video blanking means are controlled to blank out video corresponding to such single beam reception.
