摘要: The invention concerns a power cable suitable for providing power to and from a downhole tool situated within a borehole. The cable comprises at least one inner conductor comprising at least one first electrically conductive material, at least one inner insulating layer surrounding the inner conductor(s), comprising at least one electrically insulating material, an armour sheath surrounding the inner insulating layer(s) comprising at least one second electrically conductive material and at least one outer conducting layer surrounding, and electrically contacting, the armour sheath, comprising at least one third electrically conductive material. The armour sheath further comprises at least one inner radial layer comprising a plurality of armouring wires with a diameter D and at least one outer radial layer electrically contacting the inner radial layer(s), the outer radial layer(s) comprising a plurality of armouring wires (6c) with a diameter d the diameter d being dissimilar to the diameter D, and wherein said armouring wires are radially arranged, in a closed packed structure in order to maximize the armour sheath density.

摘要: A method and system for determining deformation in a cable 110, wherein a sensing optical fiber arrangement is applied along the cable 110. The method comprises injecting a forward pulse pump signal in the optical fiber in a forward direction of the optical fiber; injecting a reverse probe signal in the optical fiber in a reverse direction of the optical fiber; measuring a stimulated Brillouin backscattering; and based on the Brillouin backscattering measurement, providing information about a deformation of the cable. The forward pulse pump signal is provided as a sum of a stationary signal component and an interrogation pulse component, and advantageously, the stationary signal component has an energy below a Brillouin activation level and the interrogation pulse signal component has an energy which results in that the sum of the stationary signal component and the interrogation pulse signal component exceeds the Brillouin activation level. The method and system may be used during deployment of a subsea power cable 110 to a sea bottom 100 from a cable reel 130 positioned on the deck of a cable-laying vessel 120 floating on a sea surface 140.

摘要: A plug-in coupling for connecting a first to a second double-walled, vacuum-insulated cryogenic line is proposed. The plug-in coupling comprises a coupling plug and a coupling socket. The coupling plug has an inner and an outer pipe piece and a first connecting flange and is connected to the first cryogenic line. The coupling socket has an inner and an outer pipe piece and a second connecting flange and is connected to the second cryogenic line. In an assembled state of the plug-in coupling, the coupling plug has been plugged into an open annular gap in the coupling socket. The annular gap is surrounded both at its inner circumference and at its outer circumference by an insulating vacuum, whereby the thermal insulation of the plug-in coupling is improved. This construction makes possible a shorter design of the plug-in coupling, which, while achieving good thermal insulation, is space-saving and easy to handle.

摘要: An electrically conductive, single-piece flat part (100) for a plug with first and second contact pins (112, 114) are arranged in two parallel rows, and with a connector region for a cable. The part has a connecting element (102). Conductors (108, 110) which open into the first and second contact pins (112, 114) extend from the first and from the second side of the connecting element, the conductors (108, 110) which lie on the opposite sides of the connecting element (102) being connected to the connecting element (102) in a manner which is offset with respect to one another in such a way that the imaginary straight extension of a conductor (108, 110) runs on the one side of the connecting element (102) next to one or between two conductors (108, 110) on the opposite side of the connecting element (102). The first contact pins (112) are connected via an offset region (132) to the first conductors (108) which extend from the first side of the connecting element (102), which offset region (132) compensates for the offset of the first and second conductors (108, 110) on the connecting element (102).
