Abstract:
A fast acting sensor designed to accommodate an aqueous analyte-containing sample having a volume of less than one microliter and that can be used to quantify the amount and concentration of such analyte in the sample through light reflectance or fiber-optic light reflectance. The sensor includes a storage chamber, a capillary passage, and a reaction membrane. The storage chamber acts to collect the sample and to secure such sample while it undergoes detection. The capillary passage acts to direct the sample over the reaction membrane and controls the diffusion of the sample in the storage chamber. The reaction membrane contains all of the chemicals and enzymes needed to cause a color-change reaction when contacted with the sample. The amount of analyte can be determined by light reflectance intensity with an optical measurement instrument.
Abstract:
A diffuser for use in a centrifugal compressor that includes an impeller that discharges a high-velocity flow of fluid. The diffuser includes a platform having a blade portion and defining a substantially circular aperture. The impeller is disposed at least partially within the aperture such that the high-velocity fluid exits the impeller in directions that are substantially tangent to the blade portion. A vane extends from the platform and includes a suction side, a pressure side, and a leading edge having a platform portion and a shroud portion. A majority of the shroud portion is disposed on the suction side of a line normal to the platform that passes through a center of the platform portion of the leading edge. A shroud is coupled to the shroud portion of the vane such that the vane, the platform, and the shroud cooperate to at least partially define two flow paths.
Abstract:
A system and method for securing the initialization of a Smartcard controller and a Smartcard terminal incorporating the system or the method. In one embodiment, the system includes: (1) a firmware loader associated with a Smartcard controller and configured to receive and authenticate firmware and provide an associated Smartcard driver digital signature and (2) a Smartcard driver associated with the Smartcard controller and configured to be authenticated using the Smartcard driver digital signature and authenticate the firmware.
Abstract:
A process of catalytic partial oxidation of hydrocarbons, particularly methane and/or natural gas to form a product containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide where the first catalyst comprises Co—Ni—Cr—W alloy.
Abstract:
A turbocharger including a wheel having suction surfaces and hub surfaces contoured to reduce secondary flow. The suction surfaces are radially contoured with a sinusoidal component, and further have a chamfered edge at the shroud edge. The hub end-walls are contoured both streamwise and cross-stream with sinusoidal components.
Abstract:
A query language used to traverse a path in a graph-based model is provided. The system comprises a parsing module to parse a query comprising query phrases. The respective query phrases composed of an object-type identifier and a filter where the object-type identifier corresponds to respective repositories and the filter is used to identify at least a portion of the objects associated with the object-type in the respective repositories. A planning module identifies the respective repositories corresponding to the object-type identifier within each of the one or more query phrases and generates an execution plan describing data to be retrieved according to the respective repositories and results of a preceding query phrase within the query. A translation module translates the respective query phrases into respective translated queries that are readable by the respective repositories and including the filter. An execution module implements the execution plan using the translated queries.

Abstract:
Methods, systems and computer-readable storage medium for determining a crawling schedule. In an aspect, a method includes obtaining crawl history data for a Web site having Web pages, determining a status of the Web pages, determining a total quantity of Web pages that have a status of deleted, calculating a probability that another Web page of the Web site will be removed based on the total quantity, and storing data associating the calculated probability with the Web site. The method can further include determining, for a plurality of sets of the previous time periods, a respective crawl penalty as a combination of a penalty for crawling the Web site and a penalty for showing a deleted Web page based on the calculated probability, and determining a re-crawl schedule based on the crawl penalties.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer readable storage mediums are provided to automatically identifying a classified website. A website is determined to be a candidate site based on a set of heuristics. From among pages constituting the candidate site one or more pages are determined to be listing page candidates and one or more pages are determined to be detail page candidates. Then a listing page score is determined using a listing page classifier. Similarly, a detail page score is determined using a detail page classifier. The listing page and detail page scores each indicate the likelihood that the pages are part of a classified website. A candidate site score is determined based in part on a combination of the listing page score and the detail page scores. Then when the candidate site score is above a threshold the candidate site is determined to be a classified website.
