Abstract: Chromogenic conjugates for color-based detection of targets are described. The conjugates comprise a chromogenic moiety such as a rhodamine, rhodol or fluorescein. The chromogenic moiety is linked to a peroxidase substrate. The chromogenic conjugates can be used in immunohistochemical analysis and in situ hybridization. The conjugates can be used to detect 1, 2, 3 or more targets in a sample by color.

Abstract: A method for predicting risk of a future disease condition includes the steps of collecting and transporting bodily fluid to at least one colorimetric analyte sensing element, detecting the presence of bodily fluid, collecting optical data relating to the at least one colorimetric analyte sensing element with at least one spectrophotometer after a predetermined time period after detecting the presence of bodily fluid in contact with the colorimetric analyte sensing element, communicating the optical data to a computing system having at least one processor and data storage, analyzing the optical data to determine at least one analyte concentration in the bodily fluid, identifying a threshold analyte concentration of the at least one analyte in the bodily fluid that is an indicator of the risk of developing a future disease condition; and recording the at least one analyte concentration in the bodily fluid over time.

Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure can include a method for reducing or alleviating inflammation in the digestive tract of a subject in need thereof that consumes a disruptive dietary component. Abstract: A system for measuring sulphite in food samples is provided using a biosensor, a method for determining sulphite in food samples using the biosensor, and the biosensor for measuring the sulphite values in food samples. The system uses an amperometric biosensor having a bi-enzymatic system, a working electrode, a counter electrode and a reference electrode. The bi-enzymatic system has the human sulphite oxidase and peroxidase enzymes, and the immobilisation of the enzymes in the working electrode is carried out via simple physical retention. The mixture of the enzymes is mixed with a chemical mediator by applying a sample to the amperometric biosensor; changing the electrical current upon coming into contact with the analyte to be detected; and amperometrically measuring said electrical current in solutions with continuous agitation, using a constant potential.
