摘要： A core for pressure-sensitive adhesive tape comprises a structural portion such as a wound paperboard tube, and a polymer film ply wrapped about the outer surface of the structural portion and adhered thereto. The polymer film ply has a release coating on its outer surface to allow an adhesive tape wound onto the core to readily and cleanly release from the core during unwinding. The polymer film ply has a lap joint between its opposite edges. The lap joint can be ultrasonically welded during formation of the tape core. Alternatively, the release coating along the underlying edge of the lap joint is removed by a solvent prior to formation of the lap joint.

摘要： An apparatus is described for dispensing the bottom cup from a selected stack of cups utilizing a rotatable carriage for supporting a plurality of stacks of cups arranged along the rotary path of the carriage. As the carriage rotates a stack is selected from which a cup is to be dispensed a sensor determines when the selected stack reaches a predetermined position along the rotary path of the stacks. There are separators for separating the bottom cup from the respective stack and a solenoid operated ramp for movement into the rotary path of the separating means to separate the bottom cup from the selected stack. The solenoid operated ramp is operated by a signal from the sensing means.

摘要： A temperature compensating capacitor device is described. The device incorporates at least two capacitors with different dielectric materials which vary with temperature such that the overall capacitance of the device remains substantially constant. Filter circuits incorporating such devices and methods of making them are described. Capacitors of one dielectric material are formed by etching a conductive coating on one face of a layer of that material. The layer is attached via a conductive coating on its other face to the base of a housing, and capacitors of the other dielectric material are attached to its etched face. Other impedances are attached between the capacitors to form the ladder network.

摘要： Vending apparatus for dispensing discrete articles stacked one above the other such as a stack of pre-filled cups with dry ingredients for mixing with water to make a beverage. The apparatus includes stationary support rings for supporting a plurality of stacks of articles arranged about a vertical axis. An actuating device is adapted to select an article from a particular stack, and for releasing the lowermost article of the selected stack into a carrier. An indexing drive moves the carrier, if necessary, between a discharge station and a position beneath each stack and then returns the carrier to the discharge station, with the selected article being held in the carrier at least until the carrier reaches the discharge station.

摘要： A band combining filter for filtering a microwave signal having at least one band edge at a band edge transition frequency. The filter comprises a plurality of filter sections. Each filter section comprising 3dB hybrid couplers having input ports and output ports and resonators connected between the input ports and the output ports of the couplers.The filter sections are connected in cascade such that the outputs of one filter section are connected to the inputs of the next filter section in the cascade.A subset of the filter sections are high Q filter sections with the Q values of the resonators of those filter sections having values each of which are at least a factor of three higher than the Q values of the resonators of the remaining filter sections.

The assembly further includes a reflective protection device (24) configured to protect the resistive load (22) from being overpowered by out-of-band signal power, based on being configured to reflect or not reflect the out-of-band signals in dependence on the level of out-of-band signal power. In at least one embodiment, the directional filter assembly is configured as a microwave transmission assembly, such as is used for combining signals from two or more base stations, for transmission from a common antennae assembly.

摘要： In a railway sleeper assembly, a pair of rail insulators (3) designed for use with a steel railway sleeper (1) which includes at the opposite sides of each intended rail location thereon a pair of openings (6) for receiving the respective stems (8) of a pair of shoulders (4), are each operatively disposed, when in use, between a foot of the rail (2) and the respective proximate shoulder (4). Each insulator (3) includes a member (11) which, when the insulator is in use, operatively extends below a top surface of the sleeper (1) and into the associated opening (6) so as to lie between the walls of that opening (6) and the stem (8) of the associated shoulder (4), thereby to retain the shoulder (4) in its operative position relative to the sleeper. The insulators (3), the shoulders (4) and a pair of rail clips (5) are preloaded onto, and are preassembled with, the sleeper (1) at a location remote from the track site, such that the entire assembly, with the rail clips (5) mounted in a preload position on the shoulders (4), can then be transported as a unit to the track site while the various components are retained on the sleeper (1) in their operative positions and are secure against falling off the sleeper (1) during transit of the assembly to the track site.
