Abstract:
The present invention provides a mobile phone system, which can give a desired voice message to a user of an opposite party terminal without speaking in a state that limitation to usable voice messages has been reduced, while allowing a user existing under an environment that he/she can not speak to listen to a voice from the opposite party terminal. A mobile phone terminal 1 is provided with means 12 for transmitting a connection request of a packet switching line to the side of a network and means 11 for transmitting data corresponding to a desired voice message, while the network is provided with data/voice message converting means 4 for converting transmitted data to a voice message corresponding thereto and means for merging the converted voice message to a circuit switching line of the opposite party terminal to transmit the same.

The invention further relates to a baseband processing section (21).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for controlling the operating point of a transistor of a power amplifier for amplifying time division multiplex (access) TDM(A)-signals. Methods to compensate drifts of the operating point caused by temperature variations are in principle known in the art. However, the methods known in the art have the disadvantage that they are not precise enough during the operation of such power amplifiers, in particular when amplifying high-frequency TDM(A)-signals. In order to overcome said problem the invention proposes to carry out the controlling of the operating point during null power time slots of said TDM-signal.
Abstract:
A method for optimising quality of service in the packet-switched domain of a mobile communication system, a method wherein: a core network entity of said system sends to a radio access network entity of said system a request for the setting-up or reconfiguration of a radio bearer for a packet session for a mobile station, said request including first information derived from quality of service information contained in a corresponding request received by said core network entity, said core network entity adds to said request second information known at its level and which can be used, together with said first information, to perform a call admission control at the radio level.
Abstract:
To reliably execute handover processing when a wireless mobile device speedily moves toward another cell zone and to mitigate the load of a base station control apparatus's executing handover processing when the wireless mobile station slowly moves. A handover control part 12 of a base station control apparatus 1, as means for obtaining the moving speed of a wireless mobile device, calculates the speed of the transition of deterioration in level of the wireless reception quality according to information that regards the level of the wireless reception quality and that is measured in the wireless mobile device and is reported therefrom, and thereby estimates the exit speed at which the wireless mobile device exits from the current cell zone thereof. The handover control part 12, when the deterioration speed is rapid, minimizes the report-period for reporting the level of the wireless reception quality and, when that deterioration speed is gentle, determines a threshold value for the level of the wireless reception quality which becomes a clue for the succeeding reports, thereby monitors the contents of the reports.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and monitoring means for monitoring the performance of an antenna device. In the prior art the monitoring of the performance of antenna systems, in particular of antenna systems of base stations, has been done by monitoring systems comparing actually measured performance samples with common and fixed alarm threshold values which shall be valid for many antenna systems but which were not adapted to individual antenna device installations. In order to achieve more reliable alarms with less costs the present invention proposes to detect a deterioration in the performance of the antenna device by watching and evaluating the variation of different performance samples taken from time to time from said antenna device.
Abstract:
A device controls an outer loop (5) for controlling the adjustment of a primary target value (SIRc) of an inner power control loop in a multiservice telecommunications installation. The external control loop (5) feeds the inner loop with the primary target value (SIRc) corresponding to a service. The device includes control means (9) adapted, if there are at least two different services in the installation, to select one service dynamically and as a function of a selected criterion so that the outer loop can determine a primary target value (SIRc) corresponding to the selected service.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for analyzing and/or optimizing a cellular mobile telecommunications network and to an operation and maintenance center for a cellular mobile telecommunications network comprising: means 1 for providing of first data 3 being indicative of a first telecommunication traffic condition for at least one of the cells of the telecommunications network, means 2 for providing of second data being indicative of location information of the at least one of the cells, means 4, 5 for providing of third data 6 being indicative of location information of mobile telecommunication devices within the at least one of the cells, means 7, 8 for determining a distribution of a telecommunications traffic condition within the at least one of the cells based on the first, second and third data.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of transmitting calls in a cellular type telecommunications system using a plurality adjacent carrier frequency bands and in which a first cell or a first site uses only a fraction of said frequency bands, the transmitted signals being subjected to peak clipping prior to application to an amplifier of a transmitter system in order to optimize the efficiency of the amplifier. Prior to being applied to the input of the amplifier, the signals (32) to be transmitted for the first cell (or first site) are subjected to filtering (28) so that the power density of the peak-clipping noise is not eliminated in adjacent frequency bands (f2, f3) that are unused by said first cell.
