Abstract:
Disclosed is a handwriting recognition system with a plurality of input modes, including a storage unit, a touch screen display unit, and a processing unit. The storage unit stores character fonts; each of the character fonts corresponds to at least one of the input modes. The touch screen display unit includes an input panel having at least two input areas located thereon; each of the areas inputs data in one of the input modes. The processing unit judges an input set of touch signals to recognize a character input by handwriting in one of the input modes, according to a position on which one of the input areas, which position corresponds to at least one of the set of touch signals. The character is represented by the set of touch signals. A handwriting recognition method applicable to an electronic apparatus with a plurality of input modes is also provided.
Abstract:
A connective transmission device of the invention may include a first interface configured to connect to a first device; a second interface configured to connect to a second device; and a control module connected to the first interface and the second interface. When the first interface is connected to the first device and the second interface is connected to the second device, the control module is configured to connect the first device and the second device for data transmission or power transmission, or configured to receive a media message from the first device or the second device.
Abstract:
A method for reading a kernel log upon a kernel panic in an operation system is applicable to a computing device including a processing unit and a storage unit, coupled to the processing unit, for storing the kernel and including a log backup partition and a user data partition. The method includes the computing device performing the operating system by the kernel; the computing device generating a kernel log upon performing the operating system, and writing the kernel log into the log backup partition; and upon a kernel panic occurring and then the processing unit being reset, the computing device performing a kernel initialization procedure including reading and then writing the kernel log in the log backup partition into the user data partition, wherein the kernel log in the log backup partition includes information of a process of operating the kernel before the processing unit is reset.
Abstract:
A method for unlocking a touch screen is applicable to an electronic device having a touch screen. The method includes displaying a main object on the touch screen upon the touch screen being locked; displaying a plurality of secondary objects in an arrangement on the touch screen upon a physical object touching the main object; highlighting the main object or one of the secondary objects when the touching has lasted for a first period; de-highlighting the highlighted and highlighting the main object or another of the secondary objects on the touch screen, when the touching has lasted for a second period longer than the first period; and upon the physical object leaving the touch screen when the main object or a secondary object is highlighted, unlocking the touch screen. And then a step of activating an application corresponding to the highlighted object may be performed.
Abstract:
A fast data transmission mechanism comprises a data transmission software in a memory of each of communication devices and a data transmission interface in each device respectively for establishing a connection between the devices through at least one signal line and effecting a data transmission therebetween wherein in transmitting data from one device to the other remote one, the data transmission software divides data into a plurality of units each having a predetermined size, the units are individually transmitted to the other device through the signal line, and the other device transmits the units through a wireless communication; and in receiving data, the data transmission software in the device receives the units sent from the remote other device, the received units are sent to one of the devices through the signal line, and the data transmission software in the device regroups the units to recover as an original data.
Abstract:
The invention is to provide a method enabling mobile telephones to have automatic multiple telephone number dialing capability to a same called party consisting of establishing a database recording a plurality of telephone numbers of a called party set by a user in a telephone directory stored in a memory of a mobile telephone; automatically searching the said database to determine whether the said called party has other telephone numbers when detecting that the line of one telephone number of the said called party being dialed is busy; and listing all the other telephone numbers in the said database belonging to the said called party on a screen of the mobile telephone for selectable dialing, thereby effectively reducing the time spent on user searches for other telephone numbers as well as the annoying dialing of other telephone numbers.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a method of safely sending encrypted e-mails over LAN comprising the steps of installing a LAN access program on a wireless communication device; connecting the wireless communication device to a LAN; setting LAN access conditions in the LAN access program prior to sending e-mail; and enabling a CPU of the wireless communication device to perform the sub-steps of performing an authorization at a server based on the LAN access conditions; after gaining the authorization, adding corresponding encrypted codes on the e-mail based on a selected safety level; and sending the encrypted e-mail over an authorized VPN.
Abstract:
This invention is to provide a method established between a server and at least one mobile telephone through a network, wherein the said mobile telephone(s) consists of a unit having an installed network communications device and game software such that after the said server receives the game data transferred from each said mobile telephone, the processing of the said game data is executed to generate updated data. The said server then transfers the said updated data to each said mobile telephone such that the central processing unit thereof utilizes the said game software to commensurately execute the processing of the said updated files and display a new game operating menu on the screens thereof, thereby enabling the said mobile telephones to execute game play on wireless networks.
Abstract:
In a cellular phone having a central processing unit (CPU), a power saving method comprises the steps of (a) displaying predetermined icons on a display in an unused mode; (b) determining whether a receiver circuit of the cellular phone is disconnected from a telephone network; and (c) if result in step (b) is positive sending a sleep signal to a control chip of the cellular phone for causing the cellular phone to enter into a power saving mode by blanking the display. This can reduce power consumption while searching a telephone network, resulting in an increase of service time per charge.
Abstract:
An arrangement for providing a selectable expansion adapter on an electronic device is provided. In use, the adapter is inserted into and electrically coupled to the battery which is in turn inserted into a recess on the back of the device wherein the terminals of the adapter is coupled to connector of the battery and the battery together with the adapter are inserted into the recess with the connector coupled to circuit board of the device, thereby transmitting signals between the adapter and the device and storing data in the adapter. There is no sacrifice of precious space of the device with the additional memory of adapter added into. Hence, a slim electronic device is achievable. Further, there is no modification to the current construction of the device.
