Abstract:
The invention relates to a display unit in which a plurality of long containers 3 is disposed side by side with the length directed vertically, the long containers 3 containing water, and an air feed pipe 6 corresponding to each long container 3 for feeding air from the bottom of the long container 3 includes: a solenoid valve 7 switched under the control of a controller 11 for feeding and stopping the air supplied from an air pump; a flow controller 8 capable of maintaining the flow rate of the air to be fed at a predetermined value; a check valve 9, the elements being arranged in order in the direction of feed; and an air stone 5 at the end, wherein images are displayed by the microbubbles generated from a filter 5c substantially around the outer periphery of the air stone 5, whereby expressing beautiful images with excellent uniformity and clearness by bubbles.
Abstract:
A method of producing a membrane-electrode assembly for a fuel cell remarkably enhances the productivity and properties of fuel cell. There are provided in the method a first catalyst layer forming step of spreading a first coating compound over a running substrate to form a first catalyst layer, an electrolyte forming step of spreading a second coating compound over said first catalyst layer while the first catalyst layer is wet to form an electrolyte layer, a drying step of drying the electrolyte layer, and a second catalyst layer forming step of spreading a third coating compound having a noble metal supported thereon over the dried electrolyte layer to form a second catalyst layer.
Abstract:
An optical attenuator which provides almost the same degree of attenuation even when the difference in wavelength of two different kinds of input optical signals is small. Another optical attenuator is provided with a dopant concentration in a technically realizable range which increases the difference in optical attenuation of two different kinds of input optical signals. Almost the same degree of attenuation may be obtained even when the difference between wavelengths is small by canceling the wavelength dependency of attenuation of the dopant by raising the refractive index of an axially central portion of the core as compared to that of the peripheral portion of the core and by taking into account the type and area of the dopant and the ratio of the difference &Dgr;2 between the refractive indexes of the cladding and the axial portion of the core and the difference &Dgr;1 between the refractive index of the cladding and the refractive index of the peripheral portion, i.e., &Dgr;1/&Dgr;2. On the other hand, the difference of attenuation is increased while suppressing the concentration of dopant to the realizable range.
Abstract:
A stripe coating applicator for coating at least two stripes having a plurality of slit outlets provided at a nozzle edge and a pair of block edges forming said slit outlets. Stripe partitions partition and define the plurality of slit outlets formed at the pair of block edges. Notches are formed on at least one of said block edges toward a direction of the coating fluid to be discharged and correspond to the positions of the stripe partitions. Movable parts are formed at the at least one of said block edges where the notches are provided. The notches and thin parts form the movable parts. A slit gap adjustment means is provided for adjusting slit gaps by moving the movable parts.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a light-screening film paint for lamps containing (1) at least one compound of either manganese oxide or an iron oxide compound doped with a metallic manganese and having the formula (FexMn1−x)2O3 where 0.95
Abstract:
A tape cartridge having a tape wound between a pair of rotative reels and the tape can be drawn from the cartridge, an expansive belt or rotative rollers is/are contacted on the surface of parts of the tape which are wound around the reels for eliminating the air between the tape layers, for removing dust adhered on the surface of the tape. Thereby, the appearance of the tape wound the reels can be increased and the occurrence of drop-out or increase in the rate of error can be prevented.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus including a photoreceptor, an electrically charging unit for evenly electrically charging the photoreceptor to a predetermined potential, a light exposure unit for exposing a surface portion of the evenly electrically charged photoreceptor to light so as to form an electrostatic latent image, a developing unit for causing toner to adhere to the photoreceptor surface portion exposed to light so as to develop the electrostatic latent image into a toner image, and a transferring unit to which a predetermined transferring voltage is applied for transferring the toner image to a sheet. Before the tip end of the toner image reaches the position opposite to the transferring unit but after the tip end of the sheet has reached the position opposite to the transferring unit, the application of the predetermined transferring voltage to the transferring unit is started.
Abstract:
An image forming machine comprising a rotating drum mounted rotatably and having a photosensitive material disposed on the peripheral surface thereof; a rotating drive source for causing the rotating drum to rotate; an image forming means for forming a toner image on the photosensitive material in an image forming zone; a transfer means for transferring the toner image on the photosensitive material onto an image receiving member in a transfer zone located downstream of the image forming zone as viewed in the direction of rotation of the rotating drum; and a cleaning means which acts on the photosensitive material in a cleaning zone located downstream of the transfer zone but upstream of the image forming zone as viewed in the direction of rotation of the rotating drum. The cleaning means includes a cylindrical brush formed of a multiplicity of radially extending yarns. The brush of the cleaning means is mounted rotatably about the central axis of rotation extending substantially parallel to the central axis of rotation of the rotating drum, is pressed against the photosensitive material, and is caused to rotate following the rotation of the rotating drum.
Abstract:
A sheet-shaped cleaner including a resilient film and nonwoven cloth consisting of synthetic fibers formed on one side of the film is disposed in opposition to a guide roller. A magnetic tape is sandwiched between the guide roller and the cleaner and with the magnetic surface of the magnetic tape being contacted by the nonwoven cloth of the cleaner. The film of the cleaner is wedged between locking portions of the cassette in order to cause the cleaner to bow in a direction away from the guide roller such that the nonwoven cloth of the cleaner is biased under a low force against the magnetic surface of the tape. Accordingly, foreign matter on the surface of the magnetic tape is removed.
